Looking for some Camps in the Area
Hello I’m looking for some fun camps around San Mateo for the summer.
No problem! Just do a search for "camp" and you'll find lots of information about lots of camp options.
There's quite a bit listed the last time I checked for summer camps. There's a couple for teens. There's one with the Foster City Recreation Center or a Paintball Camp. Paintball sound really fun.
You should check out Safari Run. They have awesome new camps all summer long. They have a great fitness training camp for ages 10-13. Or other camps for younger kids. My kids did a camp the first week of summer and they keep asking if they can go back.
The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Dpt. has an excellent summer camp program. The program has summer camps for kids from pre-school to 18 years of age. The camp menu has something for every child, whether they are into arts, academics, sports or just want to play. Log on to http://www.cityofsanmateo.org/dept/parks/index.html to view the details on all 21 camps.
Check out Pied Piper Players' High School musical camp! for ages 12-16. It starts July 16 and goes for 3 weeks in Burlingame. Every camper will have professional trainiing in acting, singing and dancing and play a key role in a theatrical production. No theatrical experience necessary. Check it out at www.piedpiperplayers.org
I just found this great website that may be of use to us Peninsula-folk: http://www.summer-daycamps.com/camps/650.html I know there are also horse camps offered in the Woodside area as well as on the coast; check out some of the ofther discussions on that topic.

At first, I just responded directly to the individual poster; but since this topic seems to have generated considerable interest, I hope it is OK to share the following: The Miller Institute for Learning with Technology, a local nonprofit, offers 2 weeks of day camps relating to technology, in mid-July, for ages 8.5 and up. These are held at Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos. A flier is available here: http://www.learningtech.org/summercamps08/summercamp08_flier.pdf There are still openings, especially for the second week. -- Mark
