What's the best burrito place in town?
What do you consider the best burrito place in town? Im taking a poll...
Pancho Villa. No question about it.
That is a really good one. I've been there. I agree. Anywhere else?
Taqueria la Cumbre is my favorite so far. For me "best" is a combination of taste, price, and speed of preparation.
Totally agree with Unkie_Bob... La Cumbre is great!. When i lived in the City, I was a regular at the Velncia St. location na dlove that they open up in SM as well. Check out the steak burrito with whole beans. That's living! For other types of Mexican fare, try La Fonda on El Camino, Fernados or either of the two local Celia locations.

Ok, La Cumbre it is. I am going to check it out. I'll let y'all know!
I would have to go with either Charlies, located on B St. near 7th in San Mateo, Charlies also has the best quesadillas!
I have gone to Las Palomas Tacqueria on 3rd for many years. As far as I am concerned, they are the absolute best! Try it and see!
My wife and I have been loyal customers at La Cumbre for at least 10 years. I say 'at least' because it sure feels like we've been going there for a long time. I've tried burritos from other local restaurants, but I always go back to La Cumbre. Always friendly staff and great burritos!
You have got to try this place! (Watch the video on the attached webcard to hear all about it.)
Well, it's a good thing I LOVE Mexican Food because I can see there are some great burrito places that I haven't tried, and I thought I had tried quite a lot of them. Thanks for giving me some great ideas. I am going to check them out and do another post after I eat myself into oblivion!
This web-site also gives reviews of a lot of other burrito places around town. All you have to do is select your region. Check it out: www.burritophile.com
If you're looking for a SoCal type burrito, you'll be searching for a while. I've been up here 15 years and still can't find anything to compare, instead I've learned to accept and adopt that NorCal just likes their burritos differently. Just my opinion. Carne Asada - try Taqueria de Amigos (Foster City - Marina Plaza) Grilled Chicken - try La Cumbre (San Mateo - B Street)
Charlie's on South B Street is the very BEST on the peninsula in my opinion. It seems to be very authentic with no frills. It's NOT low fat and they don't have all the different tortilla options, but it's very reasonably priced and super fantastic! I highly recommend it to everyone!
I realize how many people have already reccomended La Cumbre, but I don't believe the wonderment of La Cumbre can ever be emphasized enough. It is easily the most unique and the hippest Taqueria in town, and their burritos are superior to all others; I have lived in San Mateo for sixteen years and I have yet to find a Taqueria that I enjoy going to more.
