Seeking user-friendly bank for basic banking needs
Hello, We are about fed up with Bank of America. Customer service is non-existent, despite our "premier banking account." Can anybody recommend a local bank that is customer friendly, responsive, doesn't forget to send you ATM cards on time, etc.? Perhaps a Credit Union of some sort? WaMu advertises itself heavily, how are they in "real life"? Any leads or suggestions are most appreciated! Thank you in advance, Vera
Hi everyone! Check out the attached discussions for 10 more recommendations from happy bankers.
I second the recommendation for Union Bank. You have the advantage of largish bank (with plenty of branches), but a very polite and friendly staff (at east at the San Mateo branch). They also offer special no-fee acounts for kids, and after a certain number of deposits they earn gift certificates to Toys R Us and other kid-popular places. The G.C.'s only worth $5, but the kids still like it.
Try the San Mateo Credit Union. You have to live OR work in San Mateo to join. I've been very happy with them for basic banking needs.
Not true when I joined (San Mateo Credit Union) fifteen years ago. I live in RWC, and became a member because Triple-A is one of their included groups. Unless things have changed, show your AAA card and get yourself an account.
Anyone can get an account with Patelco Credit union. They are great!
I've been with Provident Credit Union for many years and am very happy with their service. Friendly and professional staff, competitive interest rates, decent internet banking site, and free ATMs. That's pretty much everything I want in a bank.
