Looking for a vegetarian Restaurant
Looking for a vegetarian restaurant in the peninsula for a birthday lunch or dinner. Or a nice restaurant that has great veggie meals with reg. meals. Can you recommend one. Thankssssssssssss
I can't believe that the Peninsula doesn't yet have one, but if you don't mind a drive to the city (or Berkeley or San Rafael), Cafe Gratitude is awesome. It's a bit hippie-ish, but who cares. Even my visiting carnivore friends indulged and loved the tasty, fresh, organic menu. And the shakes -- mmm, almond milk -- are heavenly. A bit pricey, but hey, that's organic. So far, just four locations at Harrison, 9th (both in SF), Shattuck (Berkeley), Fourth (San Rafael) I'm sure there are similar establishments in our area, tho. Anyone?
Little China Kitchen is not strictly vegetarian but serves up some great vegetarian fare. Really fresh veggies and light on the oils. Cafe Soulstice has a strict raw vegetarian range of dishes better suited to a quick grab and go lunch. They also periodically offer great raw food prep classes and the staff there is very knowledgeable (in fact they may be a good source for restaurant recommendations when you're looking for fancier fare). Sinbad’s also has some nice menu items for vegetarians. All are worth checking out.
