Youth Volunteer Opportunity (must be at least a sophomore in high school) Do you know a teen that has always been a good listener? Cares for others? Has interest in counseling and/or volunteering? Or maybe you ARE that teen? Want to be a Chat Room Counselor? Free Training Provided The onyourmind.net website was created for teens, by teens and features: * LIVE PEER COUNSELING – In this AmeriCorps supervised chat room, teens can anonymously talk to other teens about their problems and receive advice from a trained peer counselor. The chat room will be open weeknights, which is when most teens are using their computers. During our volunteer training we will give you the tools you need to help teens in crisis. Saddly Suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15- 24 year olds in San Mateo County, outranked only by accidents and homicide. YOU CAN HELP!
