place for pool party??
I need to arrange a party - kids (mostly teenagers) and adults, probably about 50 people. Likely time will be Saturday or Sunday evening starting about 6: or so. NEXT August (2009,so plenty of time in the future, assuming I can find a place.) I would like to find a place where we (or at least the kids) could use a pool. My ideal model is a room with food and music where adults and kids could hang out, near the pool. We need access to the pool, not necessarily exclusive control. Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Foster City, or the surrounding areas. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mark

You could try the Elks Lodge in Emerald Hills or San Mateo. I'm not sure if you need to be a member, but I believe that they have a set up similar to what you mentioned.
You can also check with the Pacific Athletic Club in Redwood Shores and the Highlands Pool in San Mateo -Charlene
We have had pool parties at the San Mateo Elks Lodge & had a great time! They have a grassy area, BBQ's & a great pool. I don't know if you have to be a member or not. Good luck!

I recall that couple of years ago a friend of mine was organizing a similar party for her teenage son and his classmates. She went with the PCCC (Peninsula Covenant Community Center) in Redwood city. However, one of the parents was a member and she/he provided the hosting for the party. I would think the same is true for any other private club, of which Pacific Athletic is a good example. I would be most happy if somebody can prove me wrong because our family loves swimming and there is no public pool in San Carlos. Cheers, Vera
