Ok, the food isn't so bad. The french toast, in fact, is one of their best dishes. Eggs and potatoes could use a little kick. But the service is downhome friendly and the menu is your basic eggs and bacon joint, nothing fancy. Reasonable prices.
I have used Delivery Martinez quite a few times and they are wonderful. I have called them on short notice and they have been able to get the job done quick. I havent used them to move but they are always very professional and I can always rely on them to get the job done and they are very friendly.
Whispers is alwasy excellent! Everything I have had there- including the Chicken Vegatable Soup, Tostada salad, burgers, most of the crepes and of course a margarita or two...has been excellent and the service is quick and friendly!
People give TJ's a bad rap because it's "cheap trendy food." (What IS that, anyway?) No matter -- this particular TJ's is great. Yes, the items are on the healthy side and affordable. But I think what really keeps me coming back is the service. There were some long lines today at lunch, and I had just two items. A stocker stopped what she was doing, opened up a checkstand, and got me out of there within :90 seconds. Smiling and gracious the whole time. I know that people shop at Trader Joe's for the great deals, but in an age where customer appreciation is often absent, TJ's is offering one of the best "service" deals around.
I was recommended to bring my puppy there & I had a great experience. They did a terrific job on the grooming!! My dog also looked like she was having a great time just like a doggy playgroup.
I felt very comfortable leaving here there.
This was our family’s 1st photography session and let me tell you that it was simply a wonderful experience. Anat is great, her experience working with children really got my kids in the mood and Anat was able to capture some wonderful shots of them, as natural as can be. Anat is courteous, kind and very professional. The online proofs were available in just a few days and they were absolutely beautiful. I could not wait to order the prints. We ordered 40 prints and they were ready in less than a week. I meet Anat at her home to review the prints and the presentation/packaging of the photos were gorgeous; it goes to show that Anat really takes pride in her work and of her finished products. From beginning to end Anat is a true professional in her field; very responsive with questions and emails.

I have worked with Ted for about 2 years, and I have to say that he is on top of every situation. I know that when it comes to finances we all tend to freak out and the stress seems to be unbearible, but Ted can calm the most restless of clients. I really can recomend Floyd and Ted they will make you money!!!

I love shopping here for gifts - for others or myself! I have found gifts other than flowers and of course, their arrangements are fresh and beautiful. The bouquets are not skimpy, wilting or otherwise - I am not reluctant at all to give someone flowers from here - and that includes ordering over the phone. The staff is friendly and knowledable as well. Just writing the review, I can imagine the heady smell of blooming flowers in this beautiful shop. I'm happy to have found them. Parking is available in the back or the front as well.
The salade composee' was wonderful, with a very authentic French dijon vinaigrette. The filet mignon was expensive and overcooked; I asked for medium-rare and got medium. My dining partner was not happy with his fish, as it was dry and lacked a sauce of any kind. I think, as the other reviewer said, these over the top prices will not fly on Burlingame Ave. If they want to succeed, more casual cafe and bistro-type offerings need to be incorporated into the menu. At the current prices in the current economy, I will not be able to visit often. I'm happy they are here, and I wish them success, but it's a bit too dear at dinner. Less elitism and stuffiness and more corner bistro.
We stopped by for a slice of pie and ended up disappointed with the lack of service. I never did get a refill of the mediocre coffee. Bummer because I wanted a new go-to place for a piece of pie. Guess we keep looking...not such a bad thing, I guess!
I was very disappointed this evening. I appreciate that this was a free event but what I don't appreciate is that NO ONE came out to tell the 40 or 50 of us in the lobby that the auditorium was FULL. No one came out at all. 7:30pm came and went. It was obvious that there were many people in the lobby waiting. And there were lots of children who were excited to see the show only there was to be no show. Rumor had it that there might be an 8:20pm show but by 7:45 when no one came out to tell the crowd whether or not this was true, we left.
I love the no crack attack that Awender uses I feel little to no discomfert but all of the benifits...
check him out he is the best...
Follow the bear!!!
I loved the service and the quaility of the work is wonderfull I have nothing but goodthings to say about these guys, My only complaint is that you get what you pay for. I f you want quality you will have to pay for it!!!
Go Follow the bear!!!!
I remodeled my kitchen and spent forever to find cabinets that were affordable and aesthetically pleasing. Abby gave me a great deal, $2,400 for a whole kitchen when the next best guy was $4,300. Pretty sweet...
Follow the Bear!
I love the beer and the people the atmosphere is wonderful and the quality of service is great. I love to stop in, grab some fish and chips and a Guinness to ease the edge of a long day.

If this dealership is owned by the Putnam family I advice the consumer to beware. Customer service means nothing to the owner, who refused to talk to me in person when his "service center" spilled drops of an "undetermined" chemical on my 2005 Pearl White Mazda RX 8. Not only did it eat away at the paint, but he refused to take any responsibility for it, after both service managers pleaded the case on my behalf to him. I feel that Putnam is equivalent to terms such as unethical, greedy and without any true ambition to run a business based on customer satisfication. Word of mouth news of these guys is what is likely driving Putnam to spend additional funds advertising to new customers who don't know any better. I wouldn't even offer a half star on these guys. If you google Putnam service on other sites you'll be bombarded with horrible consumer experiences as well.
I'd also like to point out that the "service managers" attempted to detail off several of the spots where the chemical had been spilled on the car and they completley removed the clear coat, so don't consider having your car detailed there ever sicne they obviously don't know what they are doing. When they did the "FREE" inspection of my car including brakes and tires, they wrote me up a report for another car altogether. common mistake??
What amazes me most, is that the service managers under Putnam's employ actually admitted fault and put it down in writing, then later retracted saying that what they meant by "VERIFIED CONSUMER CONCERNS, " Actually meant that listened to my words but did not agree with me, even though, I have it in writing from my invoice. I urge EVERYONE OUT THERE, to avoid years of future frustrations and stress, please shop elsewhere.
The thought of having to cross paths again with Putnam makes me physically sick. I feel like I'm screwed sicne I bought my car from Putnam Toyota.
In this economy the weeds are slowly exposed for their true colors. Please keep looking elsewhere.
Your Smalltown Neighbor
Make sure you visit the Gift Cart on Broadway in Burlingame. Not only do they have a great assortment of gift items but you are helping the children at the hospital as well. I visit the shop frequently and always find something that I just must have. Besides the great gift items you can talk to the friendly volunteer staff.
I have been taking my Porsche to Adam & Bogie for almost 20 years. Fabulous service from honest, friendly people. You can't ask for more! A rare find!
I had the good fortune to have dinner at Jake's last night and was very impressed with the entire package. Great food, great service and very comfortable and clean enviroment. The owner is really nice as well. I will definately be returning and would strongly urge anyone in the market for a great burger and shake to stop in.
There is no dispute that the new Belmont Library is a vast improvement over the old one. However, it still has a lot of problems and has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to be on the same par as Downtown SM Library, or even San Carlos for that matter. First, there is no more cafe. It closed down and there is no indication that a new one will replace it, or at least it has not been communicated to the community. Second, the best librarian that Belmont had recently retired and now the library is manned with less helpful replacements. The current library staff has absolutely no control over the noise level or the conduct exhibited by the high school students, which brings up another imortant point. The library is fine up until 2:00 p.m., but then the library is invaded by Carlmont High School Students. It then turns into a huge social period, with yelling of profanities, public displays of inappropriate affection, disregard for other patrons, vandalism, littering, etc. The library staff seems to ignore the problems so that they do not have to get up and confront the disturbances. So, if you visit the library, make an effort to get out of there by 2 PM, and if you have to go there at that time, do not bring young children with you. Third, the Reference Section is in dire need of upgrading. Now with that said, the library does have some great things to offer. There are more than enough public computers available and the printers they have available are very good quality. Also, the children's section is very nice and especially accomodating to little kids (as is the park outside.) They also hold some great programs for the community, and again, especially for little children.
One word: YUM. And with an endless supply of breakfast places in this area, Alana's offers something above the rest. Has anyone been to the Redwood City location?
I recently moved to Redwood Shores from Los Gatos after many years of living there. I had my network, including my auto service favorite. Now what? I found Spiteri's. I really like them. I'm no mechanic, but I recognize good service and care. I'm definitely returning. Plus they washed my car and got me back to and fro their shop with a smile.
We seem to have more problems with screens than most people. So we've gotten to know Martin over the years. We're at the point now where we don't even have to be at home to receive excellent service from them. I'll call in and tell them which screen needs repair. They'll pick it up, fix it, return it to the window or door where it belonged and slip the bill into my mailbox.
Three weeks ago, a visiting teenager kicked a whole in a screen door going out to our patio and Martin gave me the usual excellent service. I had just paid the bill when the screen door was torn again. Another call to Martin. This time I told them to put a grill on the door. I was there when they picked up the screen door and mentioned with humor that I had just paid the bill for the last door. When the door with grill arrived yesterday I opened the bill and saw that they did not charge me $95 for the labor. What a great place. They recognize a good (or clumsy?) customer when they see one and know we'll continue to give them business and recommendations.
I presently go to Dr. Ching regularly for help and agree he is by far the best in this area. I do not recommend doctors to others without serious thought and consideration.

I've rarely been in here during the day or evening, but if the morning wait is the same throughout the day, I'm hoping someone can recommend another smoothie/juice bar in San Mateo. I've come here alot and almost every time, there is a :15 - :20 minute wait. It's not even that they're overly busy, but I thinked rather are shortstaffed... all the time. I silently groan when I see one person loaded down with a dozen orders, and one taking them. Where's the help?! I really like Jamba and the employees are actually very friendly. I hope they realize the morning rush might not have the time to read all the pamphlets they have in the store while waiting.
I've recently discovered a new physical therapist and would like to share his information. Over the last twenty years or so, I've seen nearly a half dozen physical therapists but none has impressed or helped me rehabilitate in the way Alton Ching and the staff at Advance Physical Therapy in San Carlos has. To begin with, Alton has very extensive training -- a BS in Exercise Science, a Masters in Physical Therapy AND a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree
(DPT) and board certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy.
His practice emphasizes orthopedic manual therapy, exercise, and education with a very hands-on approach and a focus on personal one-on-one treatment. Dr. Ching performed the most extensive, comprehensive and thorough evaluation I've ever had in order to establish my treatment plan. Each session is in a private room utilizing soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, exercise training with special gym equipment and electro-stimulation, ultrasound,
ice or other therapies as needed.
He and his very competent and friendly aide, Melissa, also provide
instruction and training for one's home exercise program. They answer all my questions, encourage and push me when needed and are very understanding and encouraging when things get tough. I really appreciate the immaculate treatment rooms and equipment and the private space along with no waiting, crowding or overlapping appointments. I'm extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Alton
Ching and Advance Physical Therapy and I highly recommend them.
Cask was fantastic. We were lucky enough to go on a night where the sommelier was in the house, and we were treated to a number of various tastes from all over the world. The sommelier has an affinity for Italian varietals, but there is a terrific selection from California, Washington, and Argentina, among others. Our service was just as friendly -- both server and busser were polite and efficient without being overbearing. Fabulous array of chartcuterie, small salads, and other tapas-style bites pair wonderfully with a single varietal or wine flights (we were even able to create our own). Pricing is moderate -- our bill for four (which included a ton of menu items, several single glasses and a $48 bottle) was $175. Nice environment, already popular for a meetup spot -- it got crowded intot he dinner hour but it didn't feel like it at all. I will definitely be back.
The UPS store in downtown San Mateo is by far the best one (staff-wise) I have ever been to. The guys who work there are really cool and always greet me. There's hardly ever a line and if there is a short wait, the guy always makes sure he acknowleges me.
The only "complaint" I have is that the guy working on a recent visit really didn't have a clue as to help me use the copy machine. Not sure if he was flustered with all of the packages to get out that day or what.
I saw "Rent" last night at San Mateo High, and was blown away by the performance. I'm a big theatre fan, and have seen "Rent" on tour and in New York, but enjoyed last night's performance far more. They are amazingly talented and gutsy kids, and you won't be disappointed.

I learned of Lynn's business some years ago and finally had a need to update my wife's diamond wedding set. Not only were we delighted with Lynn's design and diamond selection, we were blown out by the outstanding price she provided. We are indebted to her forever. I send referrals and will continue to be her customer for life.
Hi Everyone! I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old (41 now). I have almost always purchased my eyewear at LensCrafters. A friend of mine at work recently bought a pair of Gucci sunglasses at EyeCatchers and she insisted that I go with her to pick them up. WOW! Their selection blew away everything I had ever seen at LensCrafters and elsewhere! I went back the next week with my prescription and bought a pair of Ralph Lauren glasses that are to die for! I was waited on by a gentleman named Cory. He spent a lot of time expaining the various lens options and even had me watch a short dvd in the store on a new type of transition lens. I got more than I bargained for at a great price! I highly recommend this store and ask for Cory!
If he was non-responsive and you were not happy with the services he provided, then you might want to think about calling the State Bar of California and file a complaint, especially if you paid him a fee and then he did not represent you as promised.
I was in a wedding here recently and I have to say that the staff at Wedgewood made for an incredible experience for our bride and groom. Maybe diving intervention had some say, but the scene of the ceremony was incomparable: the rolling fog draping over the hills like stretched cotton, the perfect sunset giving way to a fantastic reception. The food courses were very good and served in an appropriate timeframe. And when the time ran out with the party in full swing, the wedding planner took care of everything to ensure that the band played on. The bride also told me that her package was very affordable, and included wedding invitations and other details. I would absolutely recommend this facility for a wedding, or really any event.
We used these guys to sell our house in Redwood City. Wow, what a huge difference not only in the commission but the services. They provide a lot more services at no charge and their marketing really gets peopel to your house. Great company.
I have now dined here three times, and both the food and overall service has improved. Many of the earlier waitstaff snafus have been remedied, and I enjoyed friendly, prompt and attentive service. Pomaroma is not my "go-to" restaurant in downtown San Mateo, but a nice choice for lunch or dinner. Simple, tasty menu, outdoor patio dining, and nice bar area (interesting mad-scientist lighting) but not a place for a romantic date.
They lose your clothes and then do not take responsibility, don't go there!
This is a wonderful selection of original dresses. You will definitely find something you love for your special day at this store. My sister and a girlfriend both found their beautiful dresses here. And the owner and staff are great.
This bakery makes beautiful cakes for your Wedding or special event. You have to try them.
You have not seen cakes like these. They are amazing and taste great. You have to try this bakery for your Wedding or special event cake. You will not be disappointed.
Whether for your Wedding or another special Event, this bakery is one of the best. Beautiful cakes and they taste amazing. You have to try them. Oh, and great service.
This is one of the best bakery on the Peninsula for Wedding and Even cakes. They create beautiful, out of this world cakes and they taste great. Highly recommend.
Amazing store. Wonderful staff and an amazing selection of wedding dresses. You will find what you are looking for in this store. Guaranteed.
We eat here at least once a week. The food is great, sushi is always fresh, the staff are friendly. It feels like a family. Highly recommend.
There's not really a pattern to whether or not it'll be a "good crowd" at St. James. The bands are usually pretty good, so if you like loud, rocking music, this is a great place to grab a pub bite after work and then just chill for the music to start. The crowds can be very diverse, from cycle-types and bar rats to the random bachelorette party (although I think I'd kill my friends if they had taken me there). Has evolved into a little bit of a dive bar, but the outdoor patio area is great for these warm summer afternoons and cool evenings.
Alex and his mighty team did an installation of recessed lighting in every room of our home. He also relocated all of the unsightly cables for tv, computer, fax etc. and put them into our walls so they were not exposed in the rooms. Finally he installed dimmer switches in each room as well as exterior sensor lights. They worked quickly to meet our tight move in deadline and well into the night (yes with headlamps!). I highly recommend him because his prices are resonable, he is very thorough at explaining anything you don't fully understand and he is extremely efficient. Most of all he's a nice guy and when he says he is going to do your project by a certain day he sticks to his word.
Our party of 5 people were disappointed in La Boheme. We decided that the menu is too ambitious and pricey. We tried several dishes and it just seems as if the chef can't execute them very well. Nothing stood out. It is a relatively new restaurant, so they are working on service and timing of dishes. They didn't do a good job at our table, but more experience should help. We had a long wait and our server came over to tell us that because one dish had been requested well done, we would have about 15 minutes for all the dishes to come out. We pointed out that we had ordered salads and soup, and could easily start with those while we waited. I'm not sure what would have happened if we hadn't mentioned it.
We thought that they should change the menu to a more casual, bistro style since they aren't doing such a great job with the execution of the current one. The decor is very nice and this could be a good place to meet for casual food, but they'll have a hard time finding success right now - the food just isn't very good.
I have no way to describe for you...Nirvana?
Go get a session...I can wait...
=)
Thai Yoga, Thai Massage, Thai Healing, Thai Buddhism, Thai Cuisine, Thai Smiles....I am in love.
Friendly staff and kids enjoy attending. Good results too.
Alex and his team just spent 10 hours finishing a large project at our house. We were very impressed with his communication and his work ethic. He did all of the work as promised, left the job site clean, and followed up to make sure that everything worked.
I'm really happy to have found Alex, and would highly recommend his company.
