Loved it!
I only spotted Nectar because it's located a few doors down from my favorite shop in Burlingame, Therapy. I came here with some friends for lunch and was immediately sold. Loved the decor, cozy tables, and great patio view. I had the risotto with mushrooms and it was delicious! It was so beautifully presented on my plate, it bore the optical illusion of being a smaller serving than I anticipated. The flavors were robust and peppery. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals as well. Even the server commented on the fact that we all cleaned our plates, and quickly! I will definitely need to come here more often to indulge in the wine pairings that they cleverly present in their menu.

a better lunch experience
After a couple of recommendations from freinds to try out the new place in town I finally managed to stop in for lunch at Nectar. It was a nice sunny spring day so it was perfect for enjoying the nice outdoor seating on their patio. They've done a really nice job with the interior design and furnishings. Very comfortable - a step above most establishments. This attention to detail continues with the varied menu and careful food presentation. I ordered the grilled organic hangar steak which came with a delicious salad of watercress and potatoes frites. The steak was cooked to perfection and the flavors, colors and textures of the side dishes added up to a completely satisflying meal. Everyone's dish at our table looked beautiful and the atmosphere was a quiet refined oasis from the ubiquious noisy frantic lunch spots in downtown Burlingame. They also provide great suggestions for wines to pair with all the meals which makes it hard to resist having a glass (or two). All in all a great spot for treating yourself to a civilized lunch.
