I'd never go elsewhere
I've been going to Trio for several years and I've been pleased every time. I used to see Tracy exclusively, but since she's in terrific demand you have to book her at least a month in advance (or get incredibly lucky). I've gone to stylists at all three levels and been happy each time; I'm always listened to and in those instances when what I want isn't really going to work the way I think it will the stylists have always broken the news to me- gently but firmly. (I'm still grateful to Tracy for refusing to take me from the long layers I'd been sporting for 3 years to a pixie crop with out an intermediate step- she gave me the chin length bob I still love a year later.) Currently, I also love Bobbi and Amy, for cut and color respectively. They put up with me trying to communicate what I want in words like tendril-ly-ness and indie-rocker-ish and I get the look I want. My advice is to park in the lot across the street (California Drive) which is $2 to park all day so you have no worries about feeding a meter if you're going to be there for a long color service and then you're free afterwards to stroll up and down Burlingame Avenue sipping coffee, and looking fantastic, without worrying about a ticket.

I've been going here for 10 years!
It makes sense that a hair salon's reputation is based on each hair cutter's reputation. If you like your hair cutter, you probably like the salon. I've been going to the same stylist at Trio for about 10 years and I've always been very happy with the results and the service. The staff behind the counter is courteous and efficient, the atmosphere is energetic and they never keep me waiting. If I had to make a constructive criticism, I would recommend that they get air conditioning installed for those hot days when all the hair dryers are cranking on full. (Or if they do have AC, turn it up a bit.)
