galary for local artists
does anyone know of a place where local artists can rent or show artwork?
Hi! I know of a wine lounge in downtown San Mateo that supports local artists in this way, at no cost to the artist. (Hmmm, why aren't more businesses diong this?!) New art is featured every couple of months, so you're sure to get a nice, lengthy run. The business is called 750ml, and I've attached their webcard. I'm not sure what theme, if any, is on deck for display, but you could certainly contact the owner (Brian) and let him know of your interest. Maybe Aaron Brothers Art & Frame would start something with your art showing first. : ) Good luck!
I'm not aware of specific galleries but as Live to Give pointed out there are some local merchants providing space for artist's to showcase their artwork. I've seen artwork up on the walls at 3 Bee's. You might want to contact the owner (Rafat) and see if there's a way to get artwork shown there. I've also seen local libraries offer wall space to local artists. The best thing is to keep you eyes out when downtown and see where artwork is being shown. Good luck!
Whispers Cafe, on El Camino Real, in Belmont, displays artwork on the walls of the restaurant.
Ariana, this may not be that helpful, however I thought you might be interested in the Save the Music Festival on Oct 5th at Twin Pines Park in Belmont. We are looking for artisans to display their art. Booths start at $100 you bring your own booth. If you are interested call me at 650 533-5358, or email me at Ben@belmontchamber.org
