Here is a recap of the event. Thanks to all that contributed!!
Wow, the Family Pet Expo was a great success for the Police K9 Foundation and the K9 departments in general. Here are some highlights.
SSF PD demo on Friday set the tone, once the producer of the show seen that we were requested to be on the KRON am Sat. News. On Saturday am the San Mateo Sheriffs Depart stepped up with a car release demo. Then Morgan the Blood Hound stole the show. Henry Tenibum of KRON and Henry's Garden made sure to have him on. Morgan being the pro was totally relaxed (was on Method Busters). For Henry's Garden Show Belmont and Atherton teamed up to put on a show stopper with a full body suite Demo which received the most air time. On Sunday due to the coverage allot of the public came in just to see the demos and donate to the cause. So Sunday turned out to be a very good fund raiser day. San Bruno and Belmont put on a demo and the public loved it and made a bee line to donate. Many officers took there personal time to walk around the event to promote and greet the public.
Donations of Note:
$1,500 donated for vests buy an individual donor.
$500 donated for vests buy an individual donor. (Requested for SSF)
Two International Armor vests were donated by Breeder's choice. These will be sent to the 101st airborne through the Atherton PD.
Raffle raised another minimum of $ 1,000. ($2,300 worth of donated items from vendors at the fair!) So we should be able to supply 5 more vests!!
I'm looking for a reliable, economical San Mateo plumber. Any suggestions?
Can anyone tell me where on the peninsula I can buy a 49er license plate frame?
Thanks much...
Hi. We're are planning to place a bid on a home soon, without using
our own realtor. Does anyone know of a real estate expert who would help us write up the bid, or at least take a look at it to make sure we've covered everything? thanks!
What's up with Downtown San Mateo? There is no nightlife other than mediocre bars, and those are reminiscent of college town establishments. I walk around the city in the morning and the streets, gutters and sidewalks are strewn with garbage and bar aftermath. Where's the pride?
Downtown San Mateo needs a makeover. Or maybe just some community investment...? I would imagine there are groups who organize this sort of stuff, and, like most city agencies, they are probably overwhelmed and understaffed. Does anyone know where we can find out more about what's happening around town cleanups and other projects?
So I need to buy a car for my wife because the Jeep Wrangler is not up to the demands of hauling a wee one. So the question is what is the most affordible and reliable Suv out on the market?
I'd like to sell a couple of formal dresses. Can someone recommend a consignment store on the peninsula?

Hi Folks,
My wife and I are interested in trying out a trailer or RV for a weekend in Big Sur - we have gone before, but never with our daughter. The only place I found to rent one is in Santa Rosa - too far the wrong way. Anybody know of a way to rent one for a weekend around the Peninsula or en route to Big Sur?
Thanks,

I'm looking for an easy-to-use program to design simple certificates
of recognition for seniors in nursing homes I visit. Many years ago
(when my PC was a Commodore 64!) I had such software but it's long obsolete --- I don't even know was the name was. I've searched online but can only find fancy business-oriented stuff. Anybody have any suggestions?

Does anyone know of a really good place for breakfast? No buffets, please, but somewhat special in either atmosphere or food!
If there are women out there who would like to start an exercise program, try coming to the Foster City Curves located at
961 E. Hillsdale Blvd in Metro Center (in the Longs/Safeway shopping center). You will be exercising among friendly women and best of all, the circuit only takes 30 minutes. Give Renee a call on
650-358-0103 to schedule an appointment or just stop by. Tell Renee, Marge sent you or that you saw this on Smalltown. You won't be disappointed.
Last year, I found a French tutor for my son (in High School), with
neighbor suggestions. That tutor has moved on.
I'd appreciate neighbor suggestions /recommendations for a French tutor. Thanks.

I am looking for a pediatrician for our newborn and the only one that I am aware of is the ABC Pediatric office in San Mateo, by Mills. I am not sure if they are still good or if there are others to look into please let me know what you think, Jack is due the 25 of this month and I am starting to stress a bit.
Thank you in advance
So I'm finally opening my own business and am almost done with the structural buildout. Now, I need to find carpet and paint, and I have a couple of questions for the masses: (a) can someone recommend a quality paint store and (b) if you don't mind, what would your preferred colors be when entering a medical office waiting room and patient area? I want to create a functional yet non-sterile environment that will be both professional and comforting. Thanks in advance!

We had a rat problem under our house that we have taken care of. Now we want to remove the droppings but the area is hard for us to access. Has anyone hired anyone to remove rat droppings from their attics or crawl spaces? Our first bid was pretty outrageous. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
I was roaming around town trying to find a cool place to hang on a thursday nite.. I went into moons cause I heard some great country music that I knew of.. I only know a few songs ,but the ones I know I like . They were playing country most of the night even during their sports games. I guess they were trying to appease everyone who wanted to hear sports and country. They also had drink specials too which helps my wallet.. I have been down to the saddlerack in fremont which is pretty far away and kills my gas tank.. I also had a great time at the rack too,but moons is a lil closer to home for me,and a lil less on the wallet. I told the bartender that nite (john), that I would love to make it back down ,to do this again.
Just wanted to share some great local finds recently discovered in Redwood City... are there others amidst the Peninsula?
1) The Yumi Yogurt frozen yogurt place that's on the northernmost corner of Sequoia Shopping Center sells a very tasty frozen yogurt is a godsend for diabetics! A "small" serving (which is quite large) of their Carbolite flavor of the day contains only 11 carbs! My doc turned me on to this place and I love it, though there are usually lines!
2) The Dollar Store on Veteran's across from Kaiser sells all sizes of
batteries for $1 per package. They're the Panasonic brand and expiration dates are 2009 and 2011.
3) The produce store (El Mercadito) on El Camino across from
McDonald's in RWC has the freshest and by far the cheapest produce around. The clerks speak limited English, but can make change just fine.
I am not affiliated in any way with these stores, just wanted to pass the word. I'd be interested in any other especially good deals on the Peninsula that anyone knows about. But please don't promote your own business.
Does anyone have a Mac computer guy/gal that comes to their home? I'm looking for someone who can install Parallels onto a mac. It looks to complex for me to give it a try.
Thanks,

I need to arrange a party - kids (mostly teenagers) and adults, probably about 50 people. Likely time will be Saturday or Sunday evening starting about 6: or so. NEXT August (2009,so plenty of time in the future, assuming I can find a place.)
I would like to find a place where we (or at least the kids) could use a pool. My ideal model is a room with food and music where adults and kids could hang out, near the pool.
We need access to the pool, not necessarily exclusive control.
Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood City, Foster City, or the surrounding areas.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark
In the san mateo /foster city area, does any one know a pet store that sells cat toys that you can put treats/food in so that they get excercise in the process.
My Stella weighed in today at 18lbs ( a solid girl) and my vet recomended one of these toys.
Thanks for the help.

The last time I brought my Tundra truck in for service, I brought it to a dealer who charged some big bucks and didn't fix the problems. In fact, they made recommendations for service that didn't need fixing. Does anyone have a service or repair facility they would recommend in the Peninsula to do general and scheduled maintenance?
Can anyone recommend a shop I can take my car
for a professional engine power cleaning?
Anywhere from Mt View to San Carlos to Belmont.

I'm looking to take some adult dance classes (tap, jazz, ballet). I know the local parks and recreation programs have classes listed throughout the year, but does anyone know of a studio or instructor who teaches all year long (in case I miss signups for a specific session at the rec department)?
Can anyone recommend a good auto insurance agent in the Redwood City area that can speak spanish?
I'm looking for an attorney who can prepare and file the paperwork I need to create a new corporation.
I have a carpet that came out from my bedroom prior to remodel, and now I want to have it installed into the spare bedroom. Anyone knows an installer who'd take on a small job like this?
We are looking for a reasonably priced firm that can offer design advice and do construction (deck, hardscape) at our home in Foster City.
Would like to know if anyone can recommend someone reliable, reasonable and with good communication skills that does salon cleaning in San Carlos.
Looking for either once or twice a month service.
Looking for a casual restaurant with an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Any suggestions?
So, there are many to chose from, and the question is what is the best for a lunch meeting. The group is 20+ and we would like a private room.
Any thoughts?

Stay away from Ray's Garden Design (through Carlmont Nursery). We used them for an entire relandscaping of our backyard and then decided to also use the same company for the maintenance service. It has been an exercise in frustration in dealing with them (always telling you a tall story as to why something is not done). They also did some irreparable damage to my plants.
Hi
I urgently need a recommendation for a toddler's hairdresser. If you can help me I would be very grateful.
Many thanks!
Hi -- my daughter will be getting a dog soon (from a shelter, hopefully a Bichon Frise, not a puppy). She's done a TON of research already, but there were a couple of things we'd love your opinions about:
1. favorite veterinarian/animal clinic (we're in San Mateo, near Hillsdale mall)
2. do you have pet insurance? What should we know about that?
3. recommendation for animal dental clinic, and groomers
Thanks in advance for what I know will be lots of very helpful information.

What is up with the lady who has all those unreadable signs at the corner of Ralston and El Camino in Belmont? She has words and phrases plastered over several posters and even an umbrella. But I can't understand what the words are saying (they're printed too small to read from my car). Does anybody have a clue what she "stands for" and what she's trying to communicate?
Anyone know what the date for the SC city-wide garage sale? There is a listing in the Smalltown newsletter and a webcard but no date. The website for SC says it is cancelled. What's up?
This group proves to be invaluable! My question today is a neighbor's tree roots are growing underneath our driveway, ripping up the pavement. The crazy things are now headed for our home foundation, literally about to go into our garage. Whom would I call to tackle this problem? A tree stump dude, someone handy with a saw, a general contractor? I doubt I would get any compensation from my neighbor but has anyone had a similar problem?
I heard that there was a procession of fire trucks making it's way from San Carlos to Burlingame today. Does anyone know more details about it?
Anyone know of someone who runs a in-home dog boarding company? We have taken our dog to kennels and we have seen the companies that come to your home, and we have heard of companies that board dogs at their own home. This is what we are looking for? Any thoughts?
Looking for someplace to sell/consign some semi-antique fashion jewelry and also some toys from the 1980s. Anyone know of a good place to consign these items?
Looking for a vegetarian restaurant in the peninsula for a birthday lunch or dinner. Or a nice restaurant that has great veggie meals with reg. meals. Can you recommend one. Thankssssssssssss
Hi All,
Well, I am 13 years out of college and I finally can afford to get my diploma framed! Anyone know of a place that will do this for me without costing me an arm and leg that's in Redwood City or surrounding area?

I'm looking to update my old 80's style fireplace. Need to replace tile, surround, mantle, etc. Need recommendations. Thanks! Wendy

Thanks...
Just saw Woody Allen's new movie, "Vicky Christina Barcelona" and I loved it! A psychological Love Story (endearingly psychological, that is!), of a male Spaniard loved by three amores, all four of which knew each other and loved each other equally (at least as 'equal' as Woody could contrive!)
But it leaves me with a question, as to exactly what might be possible, in the heady 'world' of relationships! Now, of course, this guy can certainly fantasize that I, too, might someday have a similar relationship with three beautiful women... I did say 'fantasize', didn't I?
Anyway, I don't think that I could be the Romeo in this Tale, because he seemed to be too much 'in need' of constant love, affection and attention, from one or more of 'his women' (although that might be nice!) The 'problem' with him, as I see it, is that he could not ever 'be alone with himself'! And even though there seems to be a similarity here to myself, yet it is actually quite different, in that, as to myself, in order to successfully do and achieve the many things that I have done, not only in my 'past Lifetimes' (as I might call them, in contrast to my present Lifetime, or period, of about the last 20-some years!), but also now, in my present Lifetime, I certainly could not have done and achieved what I have, if I were to be as Woody Allen's 'Hero' was, a man constantly 'in need' of femininity, and surely being 'distracted-from-one's-Lifework' thereby such relationship(s)!
And yet it does behoove the question being asked here... Is it possible? And I ask this from, as I have said, a somewhat similar yet differing perspective. Because, irrespective of all of my current Lifetime accomplishments, which actually did need my concentration, devotion, time and energy, in order to 'Give Unto Others...', that of which it was mine to Give, in Service to Our World and Humanity... I do find that I do 'have the need', of a feminine relationship (not necessarily three, but one would do!)
So, differing from Woody's Hero, who apparently could not 'be alone with himself' long enough to create something worthwhile to the World and/or Humanity (although perhaps the Movie did portray him as doing so, at least in an artistic sense), I find myself asking whether there might be a Woman out there who might, somewhat similarly to the movie, be willing to devote Love, Affection, Attention, Time and Energy, to a Guy who is innately devoted to exercising those very same 'qualities', instead, to the World and All of Humanity?
This is not to say that I might not at all be 'reciprocative' to such a Woman, and not return such 'qualities' unto her, but just that, in 'feeling' for her, he (myself) would also equally 'feel' such for the World and Humanity! In fact, it would certainly be 'ideal' if, at the same time as she might be daily 'showering' me with suitable amounts of Love, Affection, Attention, Time and Energy... she might also be assisting, advising and intelligently 'contributing' to the Efforts that we were Both Making For The Benefit of the World and Humanity! In such a 'situation', I think that I could certainly 'shower' my Mate back-in-return equally, as 'She Dost So Give Unto Myself, So Dost She Also Receive Back'! (Somehow that sounds similar to the old "Do Unto Others..."!)
Then I could 'forgive' Woody's Hero for his constant 'need' for a feminine 'Reality' in his Life, when I could 'see' such a Reality in my own Life, where that Reality was not only The Love Of My Life, but also my Co-Contributor to this World and Humanity!
Oh well, perhaps this is all but just a dream!
Iwill be heading down tonite to check out country nite at moon's in san mateo.. They play country music from 7 pm till closing, and they have some drink specials also that I would love to try. I just don't want to drive all the way down to the saddle rack to hear some good tunes. I hear this will be going on on most thursday nights..
I have been wanting to go somewhere around town where they have live music playing. Anyone know of restaurants/bars that have bands/singers come?
I'm looking for a recommendation for a heating service for my parents who need to buy a new heater for their house and have it installed. They live in Belmont
I'm looking for someone to play tennis with on a regular basis. I love tennis, hate the gym, and am needing regular exercise. Gravity is relentless!? I'm a female who just retired, with intermediate tennis skills. My serve is usually reliable though hardly unreturnable. I have no net game but the ground strokes are OK. Would someone like to try me out? I live in Belmont and usually play at Hallmark Park but I'm flexible. The time is open as well, from 8 a.m. to dark. Thanks, Micki (mickicartr@aol.com)
Hi,
Can anyone recommend any of the following two carpet cleaning companies:
1) Premier Carpet Care
2) Best Carpet Care
Any info would be great.
Thanks,

I just saw a sign for yet another new frozen yogurt shop on B Street that will be opening soon. What is up with all these new yogurt shops in downtown San Mateo? I can count at least 4 that have opened up this summer that are all within walking distance. There is even one instance of a yogurt shop inside an eye glasses store. Bottom line: has anyone tried any of these new places, and which ones are good?
There's a post on Smalltown for volunteers to iron clothes for Yellow Brick Road Consignment Shop (see below). This is a non-profit shop that benefits different groups in San Mateo County, including much-needed after-school programs, women's shelters, and children's groups. I'm hoping that not only our community will respond to this and other non-profits in the area, but that businesses will consider in-kind donations such as pressing/dry cleaning services, hangers for clothing, sewing services for gentle repairs. There are many agencies in our area that deserve our attention. Please consider the gift of time or services in an effort to support our community. We are all in this together. Thank you!
Contact ABC Chauffeured Limousines at 1-888-401-6200 or check out their websit at www.abctrans.com. I can highly recommend them to be on time and provide quality service. You can't go wrong.
Does anyone know of a local/good therapist who specializes or has a lot of experience with older patients?

Does anyone know of a place where I can sell my Hardcover Best Seller books once I'm finished reading them?
Appreciate the help..

I'm planning a surprise 18th b'day party that will necessitate a limo for a group of six 17 and 18 year olds to drive them to SF and back for a performance. Any recommendations for a dependable, reasonably priced service in the area? There are so many to choose from and I know that there is a difference in the services and vehicles offered.
I have removed a wall between two bedrooms to make one master bedroom, and I want to fill the gap, all 4 and 1/2 inches with oak to match the floors in the other two bedrooms. the issue is that the floors are off by about 2 millimeters. I do realize that I could if I was so inclined, rip up one room to match the other but I am not that motivated. It is a nail down floor and that would take a day alone simply to not destroy the wood. I could also run the planks perpendicular to the existing floor, but then I would have an accent piece on the floor where I did not intend to have one, and I really do want to increase the value of the home.
So I guess the question is how much would it bother you if there was an oak floor in your master bedroom and in the middle the planks (2 maybe 3) where perpendicular to the rest of the room?

My wife says if I don't stop she's going to smother me with my own pillow...so has anyone got any suggestions to help me either stop snoring or maybe help squeltch the noise without surgery?
You can either sell or trade both hardcover or paperback books at BookBuyers located at 317 Castro Stret, Mountain View
I feel the need to whip my weak little core muscles into shape but am having a hard time with self discipline and exercising on my own. I've had luck sticking to exercise programs in the past when I've been able to join a class or take structured lessons. Does anyone know of a local pilates studio or gym in San Mateo where the instructors are knowledgeable and motivating? The ideal situation is someone familiar with low back pain who focuses on strengthening and conditioning. Thanks!
I have an old window air conditioner that needs to be replaced. The new ones are smaller so that means besides putting in the unit a piece of plywood has to be fitted in the empty space and a new elec. outlet has to replace the old one because the new units have a different configuration. The unit weighs about 160 pounds so probably 2 people are needed to install it. I have two estimates from heating, air conditioning companies and am amazed how much they are expecially since I know the unit costs about $500.00 and the estimates are for over $2500. Any ideas what kind of person(s) could do this job or does the price seem reasonable. I do not have central heating so cannot put in central air conditioning.
Any insights on what makes Belmont unique? I'd love to hear from Belmont residents on what they consider the most interesting insights on their town.
Recommendations? 2 small areas on car need to be painted the size of 1/2 dollar.
I am going to be in need of infant care in January and I'm not sure of where to turn. San Mateo would be the best, but Burlingame, Foster City, and Belmont could work as well...
Does anyone know of a local charity or organization that sponsors children to attend summer camps? I was looking at the Redwood City recreation department and their week long camps can be > $200 which is out of the price range for some people. I was wondering if there is an organization that subsidies or pays for children to attend. Google search is not returning results. Thanks in advance as always.
Just wondering about the Ben Franklin hotel on third, and what the deal was. All I know is that it is being remodled but to what extent and is it going to stay orginal or what?
does anyone know of a place where local artists can rent or show artwork?
Want to put in new carpet and need good priceI knew this dealer in San Jose "Biddick Carpet" but cant find him? Does anyone know him or anyone else that is good? I have 2 rooms wall to wall needing new carpet.
Does anyone know what the deal is at Suruki? I was walking by the other day after work and was going to stop in to get some frozen edamame but there was a big crowd of people in the store. I couldn't easily get in the front door so I skipped my errand but now I'm curious about what the attraction was. Can anyone enlighten me?
i'm 6'1", 190 lbs. 33 years old. i used to be pretty athletic, but i got lazy the past couple years and put on some pounds. i was up to 207. i cut fast food and junk food almost entirely out of my diet, along with soft drinks. i have been running for about a month. right now, my routine is run 3 miles a day on the treadmill over lunch Sun-Friday (take Saturday off). Lift weights after work monday-thursday. different muscle group every day. chest, biceps, back, then shoulders. so most days, i work out twice a day. my goal is to tone up. i have made pretty good progress so far. was wondering if i'm doing enough. or if i should work towards running more. anyone have advice?
Hi neighbors,
We are looking for a used bike in good condition. Probably a 10-speed, but we're not set on any specific make or model. If you have a bike that's gathering dust in your garage, here's an opportunity to get rid of it :)
In additiion, if anyone has advice or tips on a good bicycle shop that sells used bikes, we'd appreciate that too.
Thanks

I have a large item I need to crate and ship. Can anyone recommend a place that can do the crating for me?
Thanks!
I moved about 6 months ago and the house I'm in is getting outrageously big energy bills. Not just, "Wow, that's a big bill..." More like "Holy smokes that's more expensive than payments on a new Porsche!" big. I called PG&E and they gave me the same ol' "turn down your thermostat and use Flex hours and blah, blah, blah." Well, my thermostat is set to 62 and I've done all the other obvious energy saving stuff and my bill didn't get any lower. I called back, and PG&E told me to hire an "energy auditor" to show me how to lower my bills. The bill is so high I just know there's something wrong with the meter, or there is a gas leak, or I'm paying the bill for the whole street without knowing it, or something like that. Can anyone recommend an energy auditor who can check out my house and figure out what is going on?
A little editorial: It is really disappointing that PG&E won't do more to help me figure out what is wrong. They just assume I'm the cause of the problem and don't offer up any assistance. Of course I'm trying to save money, but I'm also trying to do the green thing and save energy. You'd think they would help with that!
Any recommendations for a store to purchase a new refrigerator in terms of selection and price?
Thanks.
I work downtown, so it is only natural that I take advantage of all the wonderful local restaurants for lunch. However, these local establishments are taking a toll on my waistband. Can anyone reccomend a healthy restaurant or two that I could use as an alternative to my regular diet? Thanks.
I recently had a problem with an almost 1 year old LG Dryer.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND using Electric Express Appliance of Burlingame. I had a friend who had problems with her Bosch Washer and they didn't know what they were doing. It was the first one on the list of authorized repair companies.
Electric Express sent out a young man who kept giving me excuses of why my dryer wasn't drying. I finally told him I was not disappointed in him, but rather his company for not giving him adequate training and I asked him to leave.
I was VERY PLEASED with Baytech Appliance Repair. The owner Zareh came out and explained what had happened and I am now a VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BAYTECH APPLIANCE REPAIR. He repairs All Major Appliances including the high end models.

Does anyone know of a good German restaurant in the area? There was once a very good one in Carlmont, and another along the tracks in San Carlos, but both are gone now. Where can I get a good sauerbraten and red cabbage within a reasonable drive of San Mateo?
My old heavy patio door doesn't slide the way it's supposed to. Any recommendations for someone to give it a "tune up" (check/replace rollers, tracking, screen etc.)? Thanks!
Need specialists for major implant and root canel work. If you have good (or bad)experience with any of the followng doctors, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Does anyone know what is being built on the corner of Concar and Delaware in San Mateo?
So, has the world discovered a better way to paint the house
exterior? Every time I bring a painter, they do the job, 2 years later, it looks like it was never painted. All cracks and peeling.
One company offered lifetime warranty but they want $30K (yes, no typo here - Thirty Thousand Dollars). I heard there are some paints that supposedly last a lot of years (10?). Anybody know about it?
Any ideas/advise how I can get my house painted and forget for more that 2 years? Any advise welcome.
I'm looking for recommendations for a reputable hardscape contractor. This is a relatively small job. I want to grade two small paths in my garden.
Thanking you all in advance,

Hi folks,
I'm looking for references for a Hartford agent in the Belmont area.
As a requirement for a prospect/client I need basic, personal liability insurance for my tiny (just me) LLC. This is the "fall down the stairs on their property" type of insurance. When I was last in a small consulting firm we used an agency in Mountain View which has since shutdown and retired... too bad. Any personal references?
Thanks in advance.

Need to have some cushions re-done. Anyone have a great Upholsterer they can recommend?
Two of my close friends are getting married soon and I am not sure what I should buy them as a gift. They are both my age...old... which means they both have apartments full of the ordinary household appliances that one receives as wedding gifts. Quite frankly, I'm not quite sure I know what else to buy a couple when they're getting married, any ideas?
I just moved here from the East Bay so I'm still a bit unfamiliar with the businesses around San Mateo. I'm an artist so I need a quality art supplies store to go in order to stock up on all things artsy. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
I've checked the Local2Me archives but there are no current referrals for gutter installation. Do you know of someone who does nice work in the Mid-Peninsula area? I am in need of either extending existing
4" gutters about 10' on two sides of a new additioin or replacing about 70 linear feet on a one story house. Thanks in advance!
Hi, I've got a friend looking for recommendations on hardwood floors installation. Who is good? Has anyone used a place like Empire and were you pleased or not etc.? Thanks, Donna
At a recent meeting to establish new dog parks it was very apparent that most people do not understand the hazards of POOP. Dog and cat poop will not composite in normal compost heaps to a safe level. There are many pathogens in pet waste. There is too much info to post here but here is a link with a lot of info. There are also, many articles on the web. http://www.doodycalls.com/resources_toxic_dog_waste.asp
With 149,000 dogs (2005) between SSF and Mountain View Poop in public parks is an issue that causes tension between dog owners and non-dog owners. On a recent walk one of our dog park committee members counted 22 piles before she gave up counting. Nobody wants to see that on their walk in the park. Many issues here, ill-responsible owners ect. Throwing the Poop into the public garbage bins at parks is unsanitary. People dig through it for recyclables then touch other things kids get into them etc.
So we need more a place for dogs to go off leash that will reduce the burden on City parks. Also better waste receptacles, like our Gladiator. We have a program where a company can advertise on the unit for $22/wk and we will maintain the unit replace bags and remove the waste and 5% of the proceeds will be donated to the peninsula humane society san mateo.
There is a need to Scoop the Poop, that’s why we are here and to give back to the communities we serve and our track record proves it.
Hi All,
Not sure what one calls it but I have a rug that is 6 X 9 and want to have it cut to 6 X 7. Does anyone know of a place that does it? It's not some fancy rug, just a plain synthetic fabric of some sort. I would like the edge to look nice and clean, not like my 4 year old took a pair of scissors to it. If anyone knows of a place nearby that would do, I'd appreciate your passing on the information. Thanks!

In addition to the limited parking at Howard and Ind. Ave.
Can anyone explain how the fence that now separates the
two lots helps the parking situation or helps any of the
stores?
The two lots should be connected to allow more egress

Hi All -
I have 2 pieces of artwork that I need to have hung in my dining room. They are metal pieces and I am not sure how best to install these. Do you happen to know anyone who hangs artwork who you can recommend? Thank you.

I have just discovered that I may need to have sinus surgery. I'm not satisfied with my current ENT doctor and would like to find someone (an otolaryngologist-surgeon) who is EXCELLENT -- the best, if possible, to do my surgery.
I am hoping to perhaps find a great doctor who works out of Stanford Hospital, if possible. I'm in the San Carlos/Belmont area.
Please, if you have had sinus surgery and want to recommend your
doctor, email me! Or, if you are in the medical community and know of someone who is considered "the best" in this area, I want to know who that doctor is. I will need to get this surgery done in the next month! Thank you!

I have a number of 3-ring binders that I want to get rid of (7 or so). I don't want to just put them in the trash. Does anyone know who takes office supplies like this for recycling?
I am trying to choose between three Physcial Therapy facilites and I would like to hear if anyone has had any experience with either of these facilites?
