This is a place that tries very hard to be trendy with music and bright lighting and a very young staff running around in silly black uniforms with headphones because apparently it is too much effort to walk 15 feet to talk with your colleague. They do, in fact, spend a lot of time preening and talking to one another, but not the customers. It is as if you've stumbled into a cliquish junior high party. On a recent vist, I was greeted by one of the five sales associates huddled around one another at the front door, but not one offered to help me. I had come in search of a new cosmetics line as well as some upscale hair products that I was having difficulty finding elsewhere. If anyone had bothered to help me during the time I spent wandering around the store, I would most likely have spent a fair amount of money that day. However, despite eventually discovering some of the products that I was looking for, I was so offended by the arrogant, dismissive attitude of the so-called employees that I left the store, never to return. You're selling mascara and overpriced shampoo, kids. Get over yourselves and try working for a living.
The employes here always try to help you as much as they can. the huge selection of make up is great for everyone. Men can even go here for cologne.
Between the decor, location, makeup and perfume selection Sephora is a great place to shop or browse for cosmetics when strolling on Burlingame Avenue.
It's hit or miss with this store. You may get a grumpy employee or you may get a perky Miss America attitude chick who loves makeup and knows her way around.
I got lucky when I stopped by here to stock up on the essentials. I merely asked the lady to point me around to different brands in the store, and was able to get my shopping done in 3 minutes. I value Sephora for its convenience and selection.
I was so sad when La Piñata went away and it was replaced with Sephora. There are so many bright lights; there is no reason why they need all of those lights in there. I am not saying that Sephora is alone in this, but over the years it seems like Burlingame Avenue is turning more and more into a mall. With god knows how many clothes stores, B-Game Ave has lost too many mom and pop shops. The City of Burlingame should put some restrictions on how many chain stores can be put on this street. If I wanted to go to a mall I would. But back to Sephora specifically, a lot of girls do like to shop there, so because of that, I'll at least give it one star. I guess just looking at this lighthouse gets me sad.
They get a star for the large array of products that one wouldn't normally find at a local beauty store, many of which I wanted help with, to no avail. There was no customer service to speak of and I was one of three customers in the store to five reps on the floor. Terrible.
