I heard that AT&T is now offering U-Verse, which is a video programming service using fiber that is comparable to Comcast or DirecTV, to homes in Foster City and San Mateo. Has anyone gotten any experience with U-Verse, and do you have any positive (or negative) comments to offer?

I was approached by an AT&T salesperson at my home on monday. He was pleasant, personable, professional and wrong. He said that because pf the digital TV conversion next year, one needed to change their TV over to digital before then and AT&T had the solution now with U-verse. This is incorrect, since only over the air TV will go digital. If you have cable now, digital or analog, you will still be able to receive signals on your current TV. Other than that, the U-verse offering is comparable to Comcast. My question: is the devil you know better than the devil you don't know?
