I have an old window air conditioner that needs to be replaced. The new ones are smaller so that means besides putting in the unit a piece of plywood has to be fitted in the empty space and a new elec. outlet has to replace the old one because the new units have a different configuration. The unit weighs about 160 pounds so probably 2 people are needed to install it. I have two estimates from heating, air conditioning companies and am amazed how much they are expecially since I know the unit costs about $500.00 and the estimates are for over $2500. Any ideas what kind of person(s) could do this job or does the price seem reasonable. I do not have central heating so cannot put in central air conditioning.
