Mentor, Be A Voice for Abused and Neglected Children
For as little as 10 hours a month of your time, you could make a lasting difference in the life of an abused and neglected child. Each year, 600-800 San Mateo County children enter the foster care system as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Advocates for Children, CASA of San Mateo County, is actively seeking caring and consistent adults to mentor and speak up in the best interests of these children. Over 125 Children are waiting for someone who cares. If you would like to become a volunteer Advocate, or just want to learn more, please attend an orientation. The next session will be held: Aug. 28 - Thurs. 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM For more information or a full list of orientation dates, please visit our website at www.advocatesfc.org , or call us at 650-212-4421. A great volunteer opportunity
If you'd like to make an important impact in a child's life, exploring the role of a child advocate is potentially a great opportunity. I have a friend who heard about this and checked out the orientation class and after training is now a full fledged CASA volunteer. It's amazing work that really matters. It is a commitment of time but it is also very rewarding. Check out the information and see if this might be something for you.
