Good consignment stores in the area?
Looking for someplace to sell/consign some semi-antique fashion jewelry and also some toys from the 1980s. Anyone know of a good place to consign these items?
The home consignment center in San Mateo has a jewelry counter. I've seen some really nice items in their display. Lots of shiny stuff, they even have a few Rolexes. The service there is quite good as well. I heard they have new inventory every Tuesday.
There's a consignment store in Burlingame as well. I'm not sure if they sell jewelry. But if you're looking for good quality furniture, that's the place to go. I was told some Hillsborough homes sell their stuff there. So check it out and you might find something nice.
I don't know if they accept items, but try Ricochet on El Camino in San Mateo. Gently worn -- and even new -- items on two floors of huntnig fun. : )
A great consignment shop that does sell jewelry is She Sells Resale http://www.shesellsresale.com/ they are located at 136 W. 25th Avenue in San Mateo - (650) 525-9610. Donna does a really nice job. Tell Donna Mike Foor sent you.
Here's a recent review from a Smalltown member who had a less- than-favorable consignment experience.
One day I went to drop off some items at a local Goodwill store, and saw a brand new (BRAND NEW) silk BeBe suit... for $10.00. It still had the tags on it. I started popping to Goodwill stores in the area (San Mateo and Burlingame), and have made some fabulous discoveries -- if you are looking for great deals and brand name, quality items, GW has them all. And, more often than not, you'll find new goods for an insanely great deal. NOTE: The B-game store seems a bit bigger, and has slightly better designer names: Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, J Crew, Tahari... and everything looks dry-cleaned and pressed. Especially great deals on kids' clothing!
I just got a tip from a friend that Sutterfield Consignment is very good. (650) 579-7800 1174 Broadway, Burlingame, CA 94010
