I wish someone would've dropped one in front of me when I was younger. I understand that she can wear it at night only and not have to be wearing it during the day. The sooner the better. While your daughter seems to have a progressive scoliotic curve, there are many conservative things that you and your daughter can do at home. In the absense of a hemi-vertebrae, or wedge shaped spinal bone, all of your daughters changes are from the muscle groups reacting to gravity and her daily activities. Thanks for your reply. I was shocked when my orthopedist called me and said he didn't even want to see my daughter -- he referred me right to a specialist at Stanford -- Dr. Rinsky. (This happened many hours after I'd posted the query here, because I thought my daugther would just be seeing the orthopedist). I looked up Dr. Rinsky on the Web and from what I see he's considered one of the best pediatric orthopedic specialists in the world.
