Dog-friendly hiking areas?
Hi -- does anyone know of any dog-friendly trails in the area? I love to run off the beaten path but often want to bring my pooch along. Thanks in advance!
Hi Kat: I often take my dogs to the Arastradero Hills. It's off 280 at Aratstradero exit and left about 1/4 mile, then right. Very nice walking trail and very dog friendly.
So there is Ryder park in San Mateo, has a dog park. Belmont has Dogwood Lake that is off Ralston. San Carlos on the whole is dog friendly.... Laurelwood Park off De Anza is dog friendly and has a big hill/ mountain to climb.
Check out the local parks and recreation departments (I've attached some webcards below); they have pretty comprehensive info for pet owners.

Try these: Big Canyon Park, 3200 block of Brittan Ave., 16 acres Eaton Park, SC Arguello Park, SC For any of the above it is my understanding dogs must be on least, but can be walked in any of the above parks.
