Refrigerator Store Recommendation
Any recommendations for a store to purchase a new refrigerator in terms of selection and price? Thanks.
When we were in the market for a fridge a few years ago, we tried a local (San Carlos) appliance store, but we were not happy with them (selection was the main problem I think), and we wound up at Sears. They had a wide variety of fridges to choose from. Be sure to read the tags on the fridges because the salespeople don't know much about them. We wanted one without an ice maker and the salesperson incorrectly claimed that we "had" to buy an ice maker.
I haven't been there for awhile, but I got my last series of appliances at TeleCenter in San Mateo. I got a great deal, inclusive of a solid warranty that fortunately I haven't had to use. The staff recommended several manufacturers and really listened to what features I wanted rather than concern themselves with a higher commission and push the more expensive models. I'd absolutely check out TeleCenter again.
What I did a few years back: I looked at the Sunday paper ads from Sears and Best Buy (since both of those always have sales) to see what I liked. Then, I looked online at those stores to get all the details (including measurements) of the models. Turns out, I ordered one from Best Buy because I could get what I wanted with free delivery and setup. I'm sure they change the rules from time to time, but this is what happened to me and I'm not only happy with the refrigerator but I never left home to get it! Oh, that's another thing--Sears wouldn't let me put it on Visa over the phone but Best Buy did.
I second tele center, we got our reefer there and I understand costco has a special big appliance store in the east bay. Mary, John and >^..^< >^..^ ^..^< in San Mateo, CA
