I haven't been there since all the new businesses went in, but was planning to go to Best Buy this week. Sounds like the shopping center was more popular than planners thought it would be. Did you see this article: http://www.sanmateodailynews.com/article/2008-2-5-shopping-center
I'm sure that other Bay Area cities have equal gripes, and this one in particular is dead-on. These kinds of strip malls are a driving hazard, with parknig spaces more suited to the Mini Coopers rather than the norm. And there are no bus stops, rendering public transportation moot. City planners should work more closely with developers to ensure effective results on all fronts. Consumers will flood the Best Buy, for sure, but only to purchase computers in an effort to turn their shopping endeavors into a traffic- and headache-free, virtual experience.
