I'm looking for vegetarian or vegan restaurants on the peninsula. I've found Merit Vegetarian in Sunnyvale, and of couse a few in San Francisco. Now I'm looking for something closer. (Not looking for places with vegetarian dishes, or veggie "friendly" places, just veggie / vegan restaurants.) Thanks!

Hello -- I believe that Joy Meadow has closed. I've only been once, but check out some of the indian dishes The Clay Oven in San Mateo (webcard attached below). I sure wish they would open a Cafe Gratitude down here!!!

For a quick lunch you might try Cafe Soulstice located in the ground floor of Equinox Fitness. They offer an organic nutrient-dense, raw, vegan menu. Lots of interesting dishes and they have some desserts that are just amazing. They have stuff packaged to go or you can sit and the three small tables they have. Nice helpful and knowledgeable staff too.
