ISO Family-style Italian restaurant/caterer
Can anyone recommend a local Italian restaurant that caters? I don't need any services and will pick up the food. I was going to use Di Neri's in San Mateo but found that it had been sold to a new owner. I am serving a lunch for about 20 people and am looking for quality food with emphasis on the more familiar dishes like chicken cacciatore, involtini, lasagna or simple pastas. Our company uses II Fornaio for its catering needs and they are outstanding. Food is hot, delicious and plentiful. Service is great. Are there others?
how about the portofino grill? right there in foster city, they have a catering service. Their webcard is attached below.
Esposotos in San Mateo is great -- their webcard is attached below.
I second Espostos! (webcard below, espostoscatering.com)
Two faves that immediately come to mind for fresh dishes are B Street and Vine and Stangelini's Deli, both in San Mateo. B Street and Vine has great panini and an ample combination bruschetta plate; four large pieces of fresh, perfectly baked bruschetta topped with an assortment of goodies; the gorgonzola and honey is my favorite! They are perfect for your group, as you can cut them into quarters and everyone can try each offering. Stangelini's was my go-to deli when walking around downtown San Mateo or a bike ride from Burlingame. Authentic dishes from a family that knows Italian. Check out their menu in the webcard below. And have a great event!
There is a wonderful East coast Italian caterer/chef that runs the Key Market Deli in San Mateo. His name is Vince. The food was very authentic. His prices are reasonable and he was very flexible with the menu. I really had a great experience having my party with traditional Italian food. His Chicken Marsala was amazing....
