Posting Guidelines
Thank you for posting a review on Smalltown.
Everyone has an opinion to share. By writing about your experiences, you can help others discover great local businesses and services. Of course, not all experiences are as enjoyable as we'd like them to be, which is why it's also useful to write about disappointing ones. The important thing is to provide information that others will find helpful.
Here are some tips for writing a good review:
1. Be descriptive.
It's important to state the truth and give credit where it's due. Was the food great but the service terrible? Did you like the stylist but not the salon? In most cases, a business or service isn't 100% good or bad. Describing in detail the points that defined your experience helps others get a complete picture.
2. Be relevant.
Discuss only those aspects of your experience that you think others might want to know. Avoid personal preferences (like "I hate pancakes") and instead focus your attention on the characteristics of the business that lived up to (or failed to meet) your expectations.
3. Be courteous.
Smalltown is a forum grounded on two beliefs: 1) communities benefit from differing opinions; and 2) most merchants try hard to win repeat business. For this reason, we hope your reviews are truthful yet kind. Encourage businesses to keep up the good work and provide constructive criticism that can help poor performers improve.
