Friendliest cup in town?
There are a lot of terrific coffee shops in downtown San Mateo, and I'm sure throughout the city as well. But I know the downtown area best, and I'm challenged to find one friendlier than 3 Bees Coffee. I pop in about once a week (not much of a drinker, obviously) but every time I go in, I feel welcomed as a regular, anyway. The staff is friendly, efficient, and it's just a cute little place to hang out, check email, or check out some cool local art or photography. It's a really basic establishment that lets its staff shine through. leonard's review

Not only is Three Bees the best place to go for great coffee, a short lunch, an evening cup of tea, or a delectable morning pastry, it also happens to be one of the few independent coffee shops in San Mateo. The shop is filled with wonderful art, and the environment is exactly how a cafe environment should be. All I can say is any shop that sells its-its and wonderful coffee and tea is the place for me!
