Any good full-service car wash in San Mateo?
I work in downtown San Mateo and would like to know of any good full-service car washes nearby. I'd go up to $20 for a middle-of-the-road wash (wash, wax, interior vacuum, tire polish, hand dry). Looking for prompt but quality service at that price.
Well, there's always Ducky's on San Mateo. They're good enough for the price, and they have a detailing shop, too, if you want to do more than your standard washing. They sell a booklet of coupons that will save you a little money if you plan on using them regularly.
When my car is freshly cleaned and waxed I'm a happy camper. I always use Duckys. Sometimes the lines are long but it's so convenient. It's located right on San Mateo Drive. Still trying to find the magic hours when they'er not as busy. Any suggestions?
I only go to Ducky's in San Mateo. Their shop in San Carlos is even bigger with a speedier crew. http://www.duckyscarwash.com
Ducky's on San Mateo Drive...or do it yourself on Delaware by the post office,,,
Ducky's just isn't what it used to be. The past 3-4 visits have been painful. Waiting 30-45 minutes for a basic car wash and hardly a decent wash at that. And that's all during the weekday. I'd try the car wash on Broadway@Burligame, or Auto pride carwash on El Camino & Hillsdale Blvd.
For $20, I would go to the Hillsdale car wash (I think it's called Auto Pride now) on El Camino Real in San Mateo. They are reliable and do a good job. My experience with Ducky's (in San Carlos) has been abysmal. I would avoid them. Good luck.
