I've been eating at Thai Satay for years because I think it's the best Thai food in San Mateo. I also think the staff is very friendly, even when they're busy. If you haven't eaten here before, go soon. You'll enjoy it while supporting a local merchant. Tonight I tried a new dish I loved, even though it is kinda pedestrian: pineapple fried rice. I would describe it as Thai leftovers. But it was really good. Take rice, pineapple, shrimp, chicken, carrots, onions, cilantro, tomatoes, cashews and raisins, and stir fry the whole thing. If you like sweet and savory combined in one dish… wow, it doesn’t get any better.
