Presenting three don't-miss productions a year! With production values and performances often compared to college and serious community theatre presentations, San Mateo High School's three annual productions are plan-ahead events for Peninsula live theatre fans. The shows and talented young people stand up to critical, as well as popular acclaim; the Company was awarded "Best Production" for their 2006 Musical, Hello Dolly, (judged by American Musical Theatre of San Jose among dozens of public, private, and arts-specific Bay Area High School shows). Presenting 2 musicals and one play per year at popular prices, the Company invites you to join the audience as they transport you to far-away places and times for a couple of hours of song and dance, comedy, or drama from the comfort of the San Mateo Performing Arts Center. San Mateo High's production of "Ren
I saw "Rent" last night at San Mateo High, and was blown away by the performance. I'm a big theatre fan, and have seen "Rent" on tour and in New York, but enjoyed last night's performance far more. They are amazingly talented and gutsy kids, and you won't be disappointed. -- Mary Burns Rufio's review

Outstanding!
It is such a treat to be able to attend stage productions of this scale in a local arena. I am continually impressed by these students and their efforts. I've been to a handful of shows this year and I am definitely a fan and supporter of the SMHS Drama program! This is a great learning experience and activity for young teens to participate in. I only wish my local HS had such a fine program. Support local, and go to their shows!
