Description:
Come enjoy the Shoreline Parks that hug the bay. A recent enhancement to the local parks, the San Mateo Creek Bridge is a majestic work of art that connects Ryder Park and its southern neighbor Seal Point Park. There are also picnic and play areas available. Nature lovers unite!

Down in the dumps
I always wanted to use this line: "I am always happiest when I am down in the dumps". I remember this place when I was a kid and it was not a "land fill" but a DUMP. So I think about what is under that giant mound of dirt...my past. It is too bad it took so long (20 years?) between closing the dump and opening the park. It too a lot of work to cap off the dump safely. It was an extraordinary transformation though. One of my favorite places to visit. I like the fact that the wetlands were restored. I found out that the nice green plants in the Bay are an invasive non-native species that is being eradicated.

Kids love this park on a hot day!
Ryder Park is a great destination for a hot day. The playground has a kids’ “water feature” that consists of fountains that shoot up from a padded play area. It can get crowded on a hot day, but it’s great fun. The playground has new and unique equipment and a fun sandbox, as well. There are picnic tables and bathrooms located right next to the water area. My only complaint is the small parking lot – although there is overflow parking over the pedestrian bridge.
