Need Orthopedic Specialist for wrist problem
Can anyone recommend a good orthopedic specialist for a wrist problem. My hubby injured his wrist in September and it's not healing. Thanks in advance for your referrals.
Not sure if you are looking for a surgeon or an orthotist who can fit your husband with the right rehab gear...I have recommendations for both: SOAR (Sports Orthopedic and Rehab in Redwood City) is fabulous -- they have specialists who work with professional athletes like football linemen (major wrist injuries). Someone to see before or after his diagnosis is Mark Silva (see webcard below). He can fit your husband with the right protective device, and also creates custom equipment (braces, wrist guards, knee gear, walking braces, etc.) for all levels of folks and all types of injuries. He is board certified and known within every medical foundation along the peninsula. Complimentary first consultation, too.
If you (or anyone else out there) is looking for a great orthopedic physcian, absolutely call Dr. Philip Bernstein or Dr. Alberto Bolanos. They work in the same office and between them they took care of my husband's 3 hip replacements. Dr. Bernstein is an older man with an awesome bedside manner. Dr. Bolanos is actually head of the orthopedic department at Mills and is 50-ish. Dr. Bolanos' training is par excellance and Dr. Berstein has that sage knowledge that comes from years doing what he does best. That's not to say that his training was anything less than incredible either though. They are located at 50 South San Mateo Drive, Suite 470, San Mateo, and their number is (650) 348-5400. If I *ever* have need of an orthopedist these are the guys I'll go to. And I've seen a LOT with my husband's surgeries, including pre-care, diagnosis, surgery, and post-care. Their office staff is incredible as well.
