Need wedding hair/makeup
Hi, I'm getting married in a couple months and am looking for hair & makeup people who are either willing to travel to the hotel (in Redwood Shores) the morning of the wedding, or are located in the area between Redwood City and San Mateo. Having experience w/ Asian hair & skin is a plus. Thanks!
Diane DeBiagio at Indigo Salon in San Carlos is an excellent makeup artist. She helped me with makeup for a tv appearance and I was very pleased, and still use her makeup. (She carries her own line of custom makeup and skin care items.) She does a lot of weddings. 650-593-9643. For hair, try Colleen at Headlines Salon - 595-1415 - excellent stylist!
My name is Sheri Khalil, owner of Pro-Creations Salon @ 1267 Laurel Street in San Carlos. If the date works for us both, I'd be happy to do your hair and makeup either on site, or in my shop. Please go to my website @ www.pro-creationssalon.com for info, and if interested, please give me a call, and we can set up a consultation. Hope to hear from you,
I go Najwa's Salon in Burlingame on Chapin (just 1 block n. of Burlingame Ave.) I have been going to get my hair done there for several years. Najwa the owner of the Salon just recently did the hair and makeup for an Asian wedding. I was there that day and they looked beautiful including a girl age 10. I would highly recommend that you at least contact her. Her number is 650-401-6223. Please feel free to use my name, Carol Bowen. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Congratulations! Stilo Salon (Redwood Shores) in San Mateo has a stylist that is OUTSTANDING and is Asian from her maternal side. Her name is Jeryl and she is at 650.578.8700. She does many weddings outside of the salon (private contractor) so the cost is minimal. Jeryl does AWESOME work with hair and a true artist. You can look at her own hair and see how personal (not just professional) she takes her work; every client is a personal acheivement. She has an uplifting and fun personality (a benefit on an anxious event); she is also a good listner (another good quality for a stylist). Jeryl also does make-up as well. But on a personal note, I've known Diane Di Biagio since 4th grade and she has always been second-to-no-one on make-up. She has been doing it all her life and is a beautiful person inside and out. Diane is funny also and was tagged "Class Flirt" when she graduated from middle school. She could've wrote the script and lines for "Cher" in clueless, smart, sweet, gorgeous, and quick witted. With this being such an important day for you, talk and try to meet with as many referrals as you can. Try to observe their work first hand (ask them when they are doing someone's hair whose is similar to your own and if you can come in and see it). Good luck and most of all...HAVE FUN! It's your day.
I have an excellent hairstylist in San Mateo who is Asian. Her name is Kelly Park and she works at Stilo Salon in San Mateo (in the Whole Foods development). I don't know if she'd travel to Redwood Shores but it couldn't hurt to ask her.
