This group proves to be invaluable! My question today is a neighbor's tree roots are growing underneath our driveway, ripping up the pavement. The crazy things are now headed for our home foundation, literally about to go into our garage. Whom would I call to tackle this problem? A tree stump dude, someone handy with a saw, a general contractor? I doubt I would get any compensation from my neighbor but has anyone had a similar problem?

If I were you my first call would go to the neighbor, the second to the Public Works Dept. in Redwood City (arborist). Your neighbor is most likely liable for the damage his tree is doing. I found this out in a similar situation, where I had to remove a tree stump AND redo the sidewalk and driveway for my neighbor. It was my tree. Bottom line, if you cut the roots on your own and the tree falls because of it, you'll have a bigger problem. I'd do some research first, then call either a tree guy or a stump grinder. Zoltan Gode
