out on the town on thursdays
I was roaming around town trying to find a cool place to hang on a thursday nite.. I went into moons cause I heard some great country music that I knew of.. I only know a few songs ,but the ones I know I like . They were playing country most of the night even during their sports games. I guess they were trying to appease everyone who wanted to hear sports and country. They also had drink specials too which helps my wallet.. I have been down to the saddlerack in fremont which is pretty far away and kills my gas tank.. I also had a great time at the rack too,but moons is a lil closer to home for me,and a lil less on the wallet. I told the bartender that nite (john), that I would love to make it back down ,to do this again.
I agree Moons is a great place to chill and catch a game. Drinks are affordable and the bartenders ar nice, I like the pub feel.
There are some really great places on the Peninsula to help bring on the weekend a bit early. The numerous sports pubs are always a hit, and wine aficionados can check out Nectar (Burlingame), 750ml (San Mateo), Savvy Cellar (RWC), and Refuge (San Carlos). Some of the other food-and-bev places might be Steelhead Brewing Company and Hola Mexican (both in B-game). Anyone else have favorites?
750ml is one of my favorite peninsula stops. Fun staff, usually a fun crowd, not stuffy, and the self-serve wine machine is awesome. It's happiness at your fingertips! They change the wines pretty often so you're probably going to be able to try something new, but if you find a favorite you can buy it off the shelf. It's a great place to kick off your weekend. They're not open on Mondays but maybe they'll expand soon!
