Get a great pet or volunteer here!
My experience with the Peninsula Humane Society has been amazing. I volunteered there last year and it was probably one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. For those that have only limited amounts of free time - a three-hour commitment a week makes a huge impact on the lives of the animals there. The PHS staff is always helpful and available if volunteers have questions or concerns. Volunteering at PHS is a win-win situation - the animals get some excercise, socialization and attention and the volunteers get the unconditional love of the animals. Based on my experience of volunteering with this organization and seeing all the wondeful things they do in the community - spay and neuter clinics, mobile adoptions, mutt strut - I think they are this community's best option for adopting a pet.

People Friendly, Humans Welcome
I have been to several Humane Societies, and PHS is one of the best around. They have a friendly, professional, helpful staff that knows and cares about pets and the adoption process. Their educational programs and annual events, such as the Mutt Stutt, not only provide valuable information to the public, but also help to ensure that many animals will find a loving and caring home.
