Description:
Welcome to Kingfish Restaurant! We hope you enjoy our tribute to the great chefs, artists, musicians and fun loving people of the South and particularly the city of New Orleans. Kingfish is named after Huey P. Long, governor of Louisiana from 1928-1932. He gave himself the nickname "Kingfish". His slogan was, "Every Man A King."

Improving
While the food at Kingfish has always been fair-to-solid, the service within the last year has improved dramatically. I think the new management came in and cleaned house, bringing in young in age but not in experience waitstaff. Oyster bar always a fun and relaxing time. Kingfish has a ways to go, but consider giving them another visit now and then and see the improvements for yourself. Sporty's review

Slowly improving
I had been avoiding Kingfish for some time due to shoddy service and overpriced, mediocre meals. With indecision pounding in my head, I stopped in to have some apps at the (oyster) bar, where the service was prompt and efficient. Not sure when I'll dine there again for a full meal, but I would go back for small bites bar-side. NOTE: what's up with the valet "professionals" sitting/leaning outside on the wall, smoking? NOT a tidy image.
