Working with Tina for only three visits and already I am able to begin practicing golf after tearing my achilles tendon. They have done a fantastic job improving my range of motion of the ankle and strengthening the calf and tendon.
I've had various sports related injuries dating back to 1986. The injuries include both knees (total 3 surgeries and 4 injuries), both shoulders, neck, broken hip, torn achilles and compressed low back disk. I've been to physical therapy with at least 5 different PT places, including two others here on the peninsula.
I'm just concluding my third round with Apex. I think I was one of their very first clients when Dave first started out on his own (I'd met Dave at his previous employer and really liked him so when I got injured a year later I looked him up and found out where he'd gone). Apex has since grown into a much bigger, better equiped facility and even added another location. But the personal attention hasn't changed at all. My rehabs with Apex now include therapy following Achilles Tendon Rupture (snowboarding), Broken Hip (motorcycle) and now a pinched nerve in my neck (unknown origin).
The facility is always clean, has a great selection of equipment, the people are upbeat and encouraging, and they make it enjoyable to go to therapy.
I have also sent 3 friends/acquaintances to Apex when they were hurt. All have reported back that they had similarly excellent experiences. I suspect I'll end up back at Apex again at some point in the future, and I'm glad to see them having the success to ensure they'll be there when I need them. If you are hurt, go see the pros at Apex. Kim, John, Dave, Tony and Robyn will take great care of you.
Dave Matoso and his team are just terrific. They provide the highest quality care. It is wonderful to know a place with people you can trust. My husband's experience with Apex was so great after his shoulder surgery that I also went to Apex to recover from my shoulder surgery. When my son needed therapy for his shoulder we had no hesitation in taking him to Dave as well.
I broke/fractured my wrist this winter. The doctor had to put a (Volar locking) plate in my wrist to keep all of the parts together.
Dave and his team were able to get most of my mobility back in a relatively short time period. (Way more than my doctor expected. When I showed him my flexibility, he could not believe it.)
The place and people were great, but that was a side benefit. For me, it was all about my recovery. They cared about my recovery goals, and their program seemed right on the money.
I was referred to Dave Matoso and the APEX team by my orthopedic surgeon at SOAR (also rock stars). I had my achilles tendon reconstructed and had to literally learn how to walk again. For anyone who knows, rehab is NOT fun, and the envrionment is often one of frustration and pain. Dave, the highly-credentialed team, and even my fellow broken comrades were personable and hilarious, yet incredibly serious, compassionate, motivating and committed to my recovery. I was so impressed with my treatment program at APEX that I referred my colleague and would recommend them to absolutely everyone, no matter your injury, age, or level of activity. APEX is equipped to help you get your game back!
This place rocks! Dave and John are absolutely the best PTs I've ever been to. I was concerned I'd lost flexibility after being hit by a car while I was walking in the crosswalk on a green pedestrian light in San Mateo. These guy not only made me feel better in 3 months, but have given me enough flexibility to allow me to start working out again YEAH TEAM! Their staff is very friendly, helpful and flexible around your schedule. I love these guys :-)
