Big and unfriendly. The Humane Society's Pick of the Litter thrift store at Chula Vista and Broadway is cozy, friendly and the prices are much lower. All the money goes to the animals because almost everyone there is a volunteer.
I frequent many thriftstores in San Mateo County and have to say like other Goodwill Stores, this location tends to have a decent selection of merchandise about 60% of the time. The prices tend to run high for used merchandise though - especially for those item donated by Target that are tagged for more than the Target clearance price. Some items tend to sit on the shelves for monthis too at the same price - they need to get a clue and adjust the price when this happens.
Turnstyle thrift store is another good place for books. You'll also find lots of other stuff you'll love too and a nice staff. Check them out:)
This Goodwill store on 25th ave off El Camino is one of the best places around for used books. Rapid turnover means great selection of both hard and soft cover books. Prices are about $2 for paperbacks, $3-4 for hardcover. Not like buying at garage sales, but a lot better than used bookshops, not to mention buying new.
This is an adequate sized store. It has some small furniture, lots of clothing for men, women, boys, girls, some toys, dishes, and used housewares. They sell used shoes, handbags, and pictures. The items are really cheap.
