This place reminds me of sitting in my Grandmother's kitchen on a rainy day with the smell of cinnanon and fresh baked goodies in the oven waiting to be eaten after a rough day at school. Loved their Strawberries and Cream tea, yummy! This is the perfect little place to get away from the hussle and bussle of the outside world, it's the next best thing to a "Calgon take me away" moment. Loved it!
The decor is a bit overwhelming when you first step in, especially as it's such a small room (four, maybe five tables). There is a VERY extensive selection of teas; the two we tried were very nice. The menu is changed every day -- there's a salad of the day, a scone of the day, dessert of the day, etc., as well as some menu items (mostly desserts and sandwiches) that don't change. Whatever you and your dining companion order is all brought on one tiered serving dish -- very pretty! The food was VERY good. Service was a bit slow, I thought, but pleasant. I don't know if they take reservations, but if you want to be sure to have a table you should call ahead -- it's such a tiny space that it fills up quickly. We ate there for lunch Wednesday and every table was taken (and little turnover -- people like to linger over their tea). I found out about SweeTea's on Smalltown -- thanks!
This quaint spot is a wonderful way to spend some quality time with your girls! The teas are delish and the presentation of the delicate treats is only to be out-done by their taste. Take the time to pamper yourself and maybe even stroll up the street for a manicure.
What a lovely new place for those who love the experience of having tea with family and friends. The SweeTea's experience begin at the welcoming courtyard entry and it continues as you enter the door. The tables were set beautifully and the service was friendly and welcoming. A group of us went with great expectations and we were not disappointed. The scones, petite dessert, savories, and the salad were all fresh and delicious. The Tea selection are great and varied. This is a place we'd like to visit over and over again.
I'm writing this cause my wife can't type, she loves this place says it reminds her of her grandma's kitchen, lovely and the teas are great.
Sweetea's is located on 25th Avenue, inside a courtyard that has several differenty types of businesses. It's open for tea hours, from 11-3 daily. It's small and comfortable, so reservations will probably be necessary as it gets more popular. It's a great spot for a birthday party or a mother and daughter lunch. They do have a Teddy Bear Tea for children under 12, but because of the small size of the place, you probably won't want to bring an active toddler in! Taking time out of your day to stop for a cup of tea is a great tradition. SweeTea's menu is traditional, with scones, cream, petite desserts and salads offered.
