In a time when trendy stores come and go more quickly than the yellow pages get printed, it's good to know that some good brands have been around since I was a kid ;-)
Not only does this store offer excellent service with a knowledgeable
staff but they are community minded.
This holiday season they collected Toy's for Tots & food for
2ND Harvest Food Bank. They also had a Holiday Party for their
customers with gifts for the children, crafts projects, a face painter,
& refreshments.

We love this shoe store - so nice to find someone who will measure your kids' feet and then know which shoes are "big enough" that they won't outgrow them right away, yet not be so big the kid trips over them. I am always impressed by the wide variety of shoes they offer, too. My kids love it because they have some fun toys around the store for kids while they are waiting, and they give them stickers at the end.
Johannsen's staff is great at sizing kids' feet. It is worth the extra money to have shoes that fit well. My kids like to play with the toys they have available (while one kids plays, the other tries on shoes).
My wife and son have been to this store numerous times. Will his feet EVER stop growing? The staff at Johannsen's really know what they are doing. Sadly my son is now into adult sizes and we have yet to find a shoe store that is this good.
They have great shoes for kids, with staff that know how to measure kid's feet. But what is really great is they also have a nice selection of toys by Melissa & Doug and will wrap the toys if they are gifts too.
