I have been a faithful customer for well over 15 years. I did not mind spending the extra money, because the end result was always great...I believe the business must have been sold awhile ago, the service is nothing like it used to be and the prices are higher and no more coupons...my last visit and I mean my last visit was not a pleasant one. I had my car washed last Friday am before leaving on a trip. When I got into my car I noticed my ashtray looked odd...NICE TRY trying to hide the fact that it was broken. When I pulled it out the ashtray was broken in two...I complained and someone (he never even introduced himself), I believe the owner sauntered over-a bit smugly and said "guess we could glue it" I told him I wanted a new one and he said, "your car is not new, why would I get you a new ashtray" I said it was not broken when I brought the car in and he actually said, "Well no one jumped up and down on it" huh??? No apology, nothing, I was so incensed I left. Perhaps if he had been a bit more customer orientated or even offered a free wash or something, I would not be so angry and the fact that they tried to hide the broken the ashtray in the first place - needless to say I will never be back.
Ducky's is a 15-minute stop that you need at least once a month. They provide swift, friendly and great service...and there's something about a clean car that's almost like buying a piece of new clothing - it just makes you feel good to be in it.
Inside the retail shop, you can look at fun books, cards, and unique gifts in case you just remembered someone's birthday.
I look forward to trying their detailing center -- it gets great reviews as well!
I haven't had good service from Ducky's in months. They are so slow at getting to your car and drying it! It took 45 minutes the other day. They broke my automatic seat adjuster by pushing it too far forward and I had to get it fixed from the car dealer. Needless to say I won't be returning to Ducky's!
I agree with some of the other posts that they do sometimes miss a few spots, but overall, I think Ducky's does a great job. Plus, my kids love going there because of that little duck they can ride on for 25 cents a ride. Helps pass the time very quickly.
Maybe it's beginners' luck, but I had a great experience with Ducky's when I went. Sixteen minutes flat and my car was treated with Ducky's Super Wash. I barely had time to do a lap around the gift shop and pay, before I noticed a smiling attendant waving a towel at me letting me know my car was ready. Spotlessly clean, I am very pleased with Ducky's and will definitely be going back for the full detailing service!
Up until recently, my wife and I have been faithful Ducky's patrons.
But most recently, the star customer service we've been accustomed to at Ducky's is just no longer there.
We're now waiting 30-45 minutes for a car wash and the it's barely washed at that. Every time it's either don't have a enough staff to service all the cars that come through or they simply do a quick wipe-down of the exterior.
In either case, our car's still aren't clean and shiny.
Thanks Ducky's, but we'll take our business somewhere else.
Duckys was once upon a time a reliable place to get your car cleaned. Now, it is not.
I was there this morning and forked over my $30 for the "Ladies Special". With the Ladies Special you received the Ducky's Extreme Car Wash, your floor mats CLEANED and 10% off anything in the shop. A no brainer or so I thought.
When the "washer" signaled that my car was clean, I walked over with my son and my TIP. While I was helping my son into the car, I noticed it was still dirty AND the mats were not clean. I asked him if he cleaned the mats and he said yes. I asked him if he shampoo'd the mats and he said, "You have to pay more for that" with an attitude that just begged for trouble. When I informed him I did the guy started to argue with me. I picked up the piece of paper that said he was supposed to clean the mats and I handed it to him. He started to moan and goan. I looked at him and said, "This is not my problem" and went to find a manager.
I located the manager on the floor in the gift shop and told him what the issue was. After he finished whatever it was he was doing, he got up and went outside.
NO ONE communicated anything to me. Suddenly my car was driven to another part of Duckys and there it sat. For 45 minutes.
I finally wandered over there with my son and was told it would be a minute. After waiting for another 5, the person I dealt with to begin with, put the mats into my car and without looking at me said, "Here". No apology. NOTHING!!!
This level, or lack thereof, of customer service is not acceptable. You cannot ask people to pay a large amount of money and not deliver. AND when questioned you do not treat your customer as if they have no right to question.
After years and many, many, many dollars spent with Duckys (we detail our cars annually) I am now a former customer.
I would suggest to all of you that you DOUBLE check that your car is clean before you get in and drive away. AND do not fall for their upgrades which they push when you pull in. It's not worth it.

They are pretty fast and prices are reasonable. The staff is kind of stressed and they dont pay attention to details.. i got a few little scratches from them but it was ok
Duckies is a wonderful place where they can vaccuum out your car, and wash it. Thay are always reliable and you can trust them with your car.
Whenever my dad feels like having his car really cleaned he likes to go here and get his car cleaned because they have a really good service and the people actually leave your car sparkaly clean. They also clean your car really good and leave your car looking good as new....
this place is great! the service is excellent, and the store is a great place to waste time while waiting for your car
I've used Ducky's for about 5 years and the wash/inside cleaning and window cleaning is always great. Senior discount is 62 and I've never had a bad wash there....What more can I say!!
LOVE Ducky's!! They do a fantastic job on my car every time!!They are reasonably priced and have a friendly staff.
We all know time is money. They get you in and out. Of course the car looks spectacular.
Ducky's has been one of the best car wash I have ever been. They do a great job and in a timely manner! Highly recommend!
I don't understand the weekend crowds here. Slow service, expensive prices (even with the ubiquitous coupons) and a medicore product. Auto Pride (Carolyn and Broadway) is a better nearby option.
Nice place, it is a car wash what can be said. However the prices have gone up and they seem to want to sell you more services? Still its a good deal and with the coupons its even more attractive.
I've been taking my car to Ducky's since we moved to San Mateo three years ago. Although I don't have a fancy vehicle, I do like to keep it clean and cared for. Sometimes the car washes don't come out as I had hoped and I need to point out areas that need better cleaning, but I have begun taking it to the on site detail shop and they have always given it the attention I had hoped for - everything from paste waxing, a thorough wash and making sure the carpets are well vacuumed. I highly recommend the detail shop.
I took my car here the other day to get a "super wash" and the customer service person talked me into getting a detail on my car. the price was right so I went for it.
my car is now seriously cleaner than I have ever seen it since the day I bought it. Detailing is relatively cheap and lasts even thru the rainy days.
I went to Ducky's for the first time when my car was filthy and splotched with window paint. The crew cleanedc up the mess pretty well; however, they didn't take too much time to scrub severely dirtied areas due to the long lines. Overall I'd reccomend it.
I hate driving in a messy car almost as much as I hate cleaning it. So it's great to have a local car wash I can depend on to do a through cleaning of my car. Last time I stopped in between errands I took advantage of the daily special and they were able to do a quick hand wax and floor mat cleaning along with the deluxe car wash and still were able to get me out in 30 minutes. Can't ask for more than that. There's also a retail space inside where I was able to pick up a neat "walking tours of London" book as a gift for a friend. Browsing the merchandise made the wait seem even shorter.
I used to hesitate recommending Ducky's because they seemed to be very slow and not care very much about cleaning my car. But I've noticed lately that they seem to be more efficient and careful. The staff also seems to be friendlier and more willing to take the time to do things well. I wonder if they're under new management...
Anyway, now I feel better about recommending them Note they have a coupon book you can buy at the register. If you buy a whole book at one time, it's more convenient and inexpensive.
Especially when someone else is doing the cleaning! It's so nice to roll in and minutes later be able to drive out with a shiny clean car. I noticed that some else mentioned long waits but I find them to be pretty speedy. There are longer lines at times but that seems to have more to do with the volume of vehicles than with Ducky's efficiency. And if they went any faster I'd be afraid that they weren't doing a through enough job. I think they're the best local place for a car wash that I've found.
For some reason I really enjoy going to Duckys. Very good car washing services. They also have a shoe shine attendant that can buff out your shoes while you wait. Tv, reading material and a whole store full of interesting nick nacks.
