I have a 2001 Acura MDX with over 180K on it. I've owned it since it was new. During the warrantee period I had it serviced at Serramonte where I bought it - I strongly recommend against using them unless its a dealer-only warrantee issue. After those first couple years, I discovered Honda Hospital and have been a happy customer ever since. The first time they serviced my MDX they discovered that my cabin air filter had NEVER been changed - yet I'm pretty sure Acura of Serramonte charged me for that service at least once. (It is obvious if that filter's ever been changed because you need to cut off a piece of plastic to get it out). Honda Hospital is very courteous. The place is clean. The people (Dave, Robert, Chris, etc.) are polite, nice and thorough. Even the mechanics, who you'd never see at most shops, are articulate, tidy and helpful. They go out of their way to help you resolve those little nagging issues (noises, rattles, etc.) that other shops will just ignore if they can't reproduce them within about 30 seconds. I doubt that Honda Hospital's prices are the cheapest. But the one or two times I've shopped around when I had more major services to do (e.g. timing belt, spark plugs, hose replacements), their prices were just slightly higher than the cheap options. Knowing that the work will be done thoroughly, done right and backed up is worth more than a few dollars savings. One more thing that sets HH apart. When I've had questions or issues that were unique or challenging, they've been very helpful in researching the problems and helping me with the solutions (even when it wasn't something they were going to make money off of). This has happened to me a couple of times since I have the earliest model MDX and I drive more miles than most people (try finding another MDX with more than 180K after 7 years).
Go to the dealer. It's a lot cheaper. When I asked Honda Hospital how much a 60,000 mile service would be they quoted me $600. That included the AC Cabin filter. The Honda dealer will do the 60,000 mile service for $349 plus another $100 for the AC Cabin Filter. That's a savings of $150. Honda Hospital doesn't have Hourly rates either. They charge what they want. That can be a good thing for you or a bad thing. This tells me if a mechanic takes longer to do a job they'll charge you for the extra time. Save your money and get a quote from the dealer. If Honda Hospital gives a better quote I'd be surprised.
I just tried out the Honda Hospital for an internediate service on my CTV. The staff at HH was very professional. I felt their rates were reasonable, and I didn't feel they tried to sell me a bunch of services I didn't need. Although, I knew going into the service that my car was in need of some TLC beyond what was called for in the service. In the end, they gave me a lot of feedback on my car that the dealership neglected to discuss with me.
You can be sure of the highest quality, honest and professional Honda/Acura service!
I have been taking my car to the shop for a few years now, and I have never been disappointed. The service is consistently good, and I have developed a trust for the integrity of the people working here.
Good price and fixed well. Did it fast and works great.
I'm a fairly new customer here but I am truly impressed with their great service and reasonable prices. I used to take my Acura to the dealership for servicing but after trying Honda Hospital, I'll never go back to the dealer. I can't say enough good things about this establishment!
I am proud to say I have been one of the first customers to Honda Hospital since it began some 20+ years ago. In fact, when it was time for me to sell my car, I deliberately chose to buy another Honda just so I could keep coming here. There's nothing like having peace of mind when you know the caliber of people looking after your car. This is not just a repair shop, it's also a place that puts a premium on building trust with customers like me and I can't tell enough people about Honda Hospital. All of the people I have told to come here have thanked me profusely for telling them about H.H. and can't say enough good things about Kris and the Team!
I have an aunt who's an Accord fan, she bought hers in 1990. She's been bringing it to Honda Hospital for years, I asked her why HH, she told me that she didn't want to worry about her car and that they take care of what needs to be done. 100k miles later, the car ran well until she ran into someone elses car. but that's another story.
I have had my car worked on a couple of times and was surprised how CLEAN the shop is. The fellows at the front desk are very professional. One time, after a short test drive, the person with me was getting out of the car and noticed the fuse panel cover was not quite in place. He fixed it immediately. I had been struggling with that for months! They care about the details.
We've been taking my car to Honda Hospital ever since we moved to the area. They've given us great service at a good price. They haven't tried to talk us into service we don't need.
