We have been going to Amici's for at least 8 years...it's always good! Their crust is thin and crispy, they understand the ratio between sauce and cheese, and they use first-rate ingredients as toppings. Their salads are good, too. We always share a 1/2 antipasto salad with their mustard vinaigrette and then we split a medium pizza (and we take leftover pizza home).
I love the simplicity of pizza and pasta places. I ignored my diet and turned my nose up at the salads and ordered the baked penna parmigian with eggplant. To top it off, I ordered a spicy sausage side as well. Called in my order and was told it'd be ready in 10 minutes. I especially liked how the baked penna was covered in an inch of melted parmesan cheese. Super gooey and delicious. The eggplant was tender and delicious with the spicy sausage. When I picked up my food, all the diners in the restaurant were happily munching on their pizzas. I'll have to come back soon and try their thin crust clam pizza!
Amici`s reasturaunt has great cheese. They make the crust taste so good. The emploeys are very nice. And bring the food out in a good amount of time.
This is great pizza. It has great texture. I also love the sauce. Along with that there is great cheese on the pizzas. Also they fill you up with the great pepperoni on them.
Very good pizza, family friendly, great kids menu. Wonderful pizza choices. Not your everyday pizza parlor. MUCH better!
I love their thin pizza and the most amazing cesar salad dressing, ever!!
I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd rather do without pizza than eat Amici's. Its not just the whole thin crust vs. thick, etc. Their pizzas are greasy and too salty for my taste. But I am clearly in the minority....most locals love their pizza. For me, I'll head to Original Nick's or Windy City!
We love the great taste of Amici's wood-fired pizza. Unfortunately, you have to pay for the unique taste...about $20 for a medium 3-topping pizza.
Other pizza's just don't compare to Amici's. The toppings are original and always fresh.
My (New York born and raised)husband who thinks he's a pizza officianado, won't eat anything else.
Although it's a bit pricy, I have to agree tht Amici's pizza is out of this world.
After sampling quite a few pizza joints on the peninsula, I'd have to say Amici's is the best by far. They seem to have perfected thickness of crust, tangy sauce, and the right amount of cheese. I prefer pizza with crust on the thin side and cheese that bubbles and blisters. Amici's satisfies those two requirements. Although they have a wide selection of toppings, I prefer the Hawaiian. The delivery is always fast, too.
EAST VS WEST??? It’s all about the salads! Good place to just sit and relax.
We love Amici's, and usually get delivery of a pizza and salad.
Yes, it's thin crust (mmm!) and maybe not quite as good as some pizza's I've had back east, but definitely very yummy. We like to warm up a pizza stone in the oven at home and slip the pizza onto it when it arrives... which makes it extra tasty!
Would also recommend the antipasto salad with caesar dressing. Not your typical caesar (kind of on the anchovy side) but VERY good stuff. Be prepared to cut up the tomatoes and bell peppers than come with it.
As a transplanted NY'er, I miss the greasy, woodfired crust and flavorful toppings on a good pizza. Amici's takes care of that craving! Call me spoiled, but their clam/garlic/pesto pizza is the best I've eaten across the US! I love the basic cheese, as well as a sausage & mushroom, but all of their offerings are filling and will satisfy a true pizza lover. Delivery is prompt and dining in is relaxing! What can I say? They're excellent!
I must say, I wasn’t impressed. Maybe it was what I ordered, a pesto pizza, but I found it to be very greasy. And my daughter’s kids meal of pasta with parmesan cheese had barely any cheese on it. To make it worse, our bill came to $22 for lunch when all was said and done. And the service was terribly slow -- and inaccurate -- they brought us the completely wrong order. I’m still searching for quality pizza in San Mateo.
the best pasta (linguini with pesto & clams) and pizza (pollo) place ever!!! you'll really get hooked!!!
This is my family's favorite pizza place. This is a great family-friendly place. Food and service are great! The menu contains much more than just pizza.
Amici's Caesar salad is divine. They use real Caesar dressing (with anchovies) so it tastes better than most other restaurants.
The pizzas, while more expensive than other pizza places, is excellent. I've never tried any of the pasta dishes, but they seem fairly popular.
Very yummy and filling salad. Their caesar dressing is my favorite. Although the creamy italian dressing isn't half bad. A half order serves two but I can eat the entire salad as an entree. Their pizza is ok...a bit greasy for me.
Amicis pizza is one of the best pizza places in san mateo! If you like thin crust pizza you will love it. The pizzas our cooked in a brick oven by hand. They have a great salads as well. The restaurant located on third avenue is very quaint and warm. Service has been great whether I am ordering in or out.
I love love love amicis!! great thin crust pizza. the margherita pizza is so good i could eat a whole one by myself!
Amici's is my favorite place for pizza, and it is absolutley delicious. I eat here all time and it nevr gets old. I like to get a large pepperoni with fresh garlic, and a garden salad with extra Cesar dressing.
GREAT PIZZA! GREAT PASTA! GREAT SALAD! GREAT place to go before or after a Movie at the Century Theater. A little expensive and the pizzas are a little small for their sizes, still GREAT FOOD, and well worth the little negatives
This is like my family's hang out. The pizza is excelent, real authentic east coast pizza. Must go! Suggestion -
try the panceta with mushrooms or tomatoes!
What we love about this place is the anti pasta salad and order it with the Ceasar Dressing. The best thin crust Pizza in town. Enjoy!
The thin crust is the best and the different types of pizza make for a unique experience ever time I am there. Check this place out, but dont go on Friday nights - that way the wait will be short when I go to get my pie.
Amici's has always been fast and offers good pizza at a fair price.
They have fantastic pizza! I also love their Caesar salad dressing, and their pasta primavera dish. Yummy!
Man this is a gooda pizza pie! Fast HOT delivery and dine is alway nice too.
I like the pizza and the service here at Amicis. GOOD GOOD GOOD>
I'm from New York, and I refuse to go anywhere else for pizza. And a must try is Amnici's herb/roasted pepper dressing on spinach salad!
Very, very greasy! The driver forgot part of our order, said he'd be back in 5 minutes with the rest, but he never showed up.
Amicis has the best pizza in the area, hands down. If you need pizza, this is the place.
This is a great Pizza place if you like thin crust pizza.
Personally, I like thick crust pizza and i would rather go to Pizza My Heart.
Ambience is nice....but place is too small and very noisy....and not a very big waiting area.
Pretty good option if you feel like Italian food. Service is good as well.
When orderiing pizza to-go you can count on 20 to 30 minutes. Much faster than anyone else. Also arrives piping hot!
We love Amici's! We first tried it at their other location in downtown San Francisco a few months back, and then when we made our move from Virginia Beach to San Mateo we were extremely pleased to discover an Amici's in downtown San Mateo too! The food is great. The employees are always friendly and quick to serve with a smile! :)
