I have been coming here since I was a cub, and it has simply improved with age like a fine wine. I really enjoy the vibrant flavors that each dish delivers! And the service is wonderful!!!
Follow the Bear!!!
One of our favorite Downtown San Mateo spots. The staff is always friendly and service is fast. And if you are into trying something new, they have the best duck in town hands down.
I like the atmosphere. It's like a restaurant in SF without having to go to SF.
Service at Spiedo Restaurant was great, so was the soup.
nice lively downtown spot for goor eats. anything on the menu is an award winning presentation.
pricey but worth it
We've used this fine restaurant for both a wedding shower and a wedding reception. Personal attention to detail and wonderful menu selections make this place fabulous to host almost any event of not more than thirty.
We had a company dinner at Spiedo's and it was the best service I have had in a large group. Good service and the food is superb. Good atmospher and they have a great bar!
I've been to Spiedo's 5 times, and have enjoyed several of the pasta dishes and 2 fish dishes. Attractive restaurant and nice staff.
I've dined here with my husband and then again with a group of Ladies. The staff was patient and helpful, especially with our wine selection. The food was very good both times, although my husband said he tasted more of the sauce than the duck. But we would highly recommend Spiedos as a nice dinner out.
I have had a few pasta seafood dishes here that have put a beautiful taste in my mouth. service could be a bit more friendly, but food is great.
Strongly recommend for business lunches. Relatively quiet so you will not need to shout. Food is excellent and you can sit indoors while sitting outdoors...it is very open.
For really fine dining try Bogie's (bottom of the Ben Franklin Hotel)
I had a terrible meal here. What was worse, the waitress insisted I get the chef's special pasta which I didn't like and didn't end up eating. When she noticed that I didn't really touch my plate at the end of the meal, she asked me if I didn't like it. I told her it wasn't good and not to my taste. She did not offer an alternative dish, didn't apologize and charged me for the dish that I barely touched. I will not be returning.
