I love coming to this toy store it always takes me back to when I was a child building rockets that I would lose in the Highlands canyon area. I never am disappointed when I am looking for a really good gift....
The employees are always nice and willing to help. They able to answer all my questions.

Talbot's is excellent - every department, from bikes and hobbies to baby supplies and toys has been great to our family. We've purchased two bikes from them, several hobby items, baby supplies, and also general toys. They also are great for phone orders. Our out-of-town relatives even call them during holidays and birthdays to get place orders for pick-up or shipping. I try to shop for all of our gift and toy needs there.
They have a great selection of toys. The staff can be helpful and best of all, they gift wrap for free. A great neighborhood store to support.
My two granddaughters always love my gifts from Talbots. They have a knowledgeble staff, quality items and free gift wrap. Want to please the kids - got to Talbots.
I never have to worry about finding something I like at Talbots and I have as much, if not more fun, shopping for toys, books, and my favorite, dolls! They carry beautiful collectible dolls for me, have great puzzles and knight figures for my one son, while the other enjoys the science projects and trains in the other room. We have also bought numerous bicycles at Talbots. At Christmas, wrapping is free and so are pictures with Santa!!
As a mom, I love going to Talbot's because it is so close, they have a great selection of quality toys... and yes they gift wrap which makes the last minute birthday party a breeze!!! My daughter is always charmed by the back room with brio and thomas trains that she can try out herself! The staff is great, too.
The only thing I would ding them on is price but then again that's the trade off versus subjecting yourself to ToysRUs or having to order something online (which is fine if you can plan ahead).
Talbot's is the best! They have high quality toys and hobbies and terrific service. I love going in there and seeing what's new. It's such a pleasant experience, much better than one of the bigger chain toy stores. The variety of merchandise is incredible.
This family owned store is a destination stop if you are coming to San Mateo. No matter what your age, you will want to play with all the toys so enticingly displayed. If you can dream it up, they have it!
talbots probably has every section of toys that a child would think of. Even for adults talbots has something that can help you with something that you need. nice and friendly environment as well.
Great selection, helpful service, and they gift wrap! A perfect place to pick up a birthday gift for kids. And they're very supportive of the local public schools!
in this toy store you can just go to have fun and look at all the toys that you want. all the people are friendly and all the toys are fun. it is always filled with kids of all ages. they have somthing fun for everyone who walks through the doors
Talbots is a great place for young kids. It is that place you dream of when you are younger. Theres a huge area with chocies from Barbie's to Lego's this store has a million toys to chose from.
WOW! what can I say about this place?? It's a great place to go shop at for kids, and even teenagers. I've always gone there to shop and I've always boughten my bicycles there. I love the service and the way the store is organized. I can remember when I was a kid and loved going there because I felt like I was surrounded by toys everywhere and I wanted everything! It's a great place to go and parents enjoy shopping there for their kids as well.
this is by far the best place to shop at and they arent like toys r us where they have a mess they are actually organized and you can find things easily....its it clean and it makes kids dreams come true...it doesnt only make kids happy but it makes parents happy too because of there organization and it is the onlytoy place that has been out for a long time...it is a great store to shop at
Lets just say it is the Ritz of Toy stores.... the range in age is impressive. You might see a 4 year old girl, or a 20 year old boy, things for all ages!
The real toy land. I felt like a kid as I brought my little brother in to Talbot’s his face was glowing and we spent hours just playing in the store it is a really great place to shop for toy with its great choices from old to new toys

This used to be my favorite place in the world. They have every toy for both boys and girls. It has helpful and sincere employees. There is also a bike department for older kids.
I've been shopping at this toy store since I was a kid. The hobbies department is my favorite with the train sets, airplanes and models. Also enjoy shopping in the very complete bicycle department. I have gotten most of my bike accessories here and also my bike tuneups.
Talbots is a fun, nice, big place full of toys and other such fun things. It has stuff for everyone-- kids and adults alike will find this place hard to dislike. It also has great sales associates who will always help you whenever you need help!

I have been shopping at Talbot's for years since my children were young. Now I shop here for my grandkids. Has a great selection of toys. A mom and pop toy store with good customer service and they even wrap your gifts!

You don't find toy stores like this around anymore! What a gem! Your old town toy shop with excellent customer service. Love the train overhead in the hobbies section of the shop. Great place for buying bicycle and bike gear. Great selection of dolls too!
Talbot's Toyland is simply a Toyland. Perhaps smaller than Toys 'R' us, Talbot's is only for a good place to bring the kids. A variety of toys from bouncing balls to gameboards, this place enriches the feeling of fun. This is the only toy store you're going to get here in San Mateo, but in my opinion, it SHOULD be the only toy store we can get.
You don't find toystores like this around anymore! The service here is excellent, it's like shopping at the Nordstroms for toys! They'll even wrap your purchases with several different designs of wrapping paper to choose from! It has almost any toy you can imagine!
This place has everything.
It's been here since I was a kid. The owner is great. One time I went to buy a gift and accidently forgot to put money in the meter. The owner happened to be standing outside and saw that I got a ticket. He actually took the ticket and paid it for me. You would never get the service at Toys R US.
This is one of those businesses that you just assume will be there forever. They have toys and games here that you will find nowhere else. Don't forget to visit the hobby shop and the bike shop next door.

This toy store is bigger than it looks on the outside. It has everthing from board games to strollers to bikes! Fun for both parents and kids
I love Talbot's. I have been going there since my children were small. They are all grown up now and I still go there. It is such a convenience getting a present wrapped. The sales people are helpful and they have such an assortment of all kinds of toys and hobbies. Talbot's is great and I hope they are in business "forever."
Excellent old-school store. Big train department, full service bike shop, baby gear section and a good mix of the latest and traditional toys. Surprisingly reasonable prices -- about the same as Toys R Us but more expensive than Target.
They have a great selction of toys and bikes and the prices are just as good as ToyRUs but here you ger free wrapping and the service is bar-none!
This place has everything and a great place to
entertain your kids for a couple of hours.

If you live in our great city and have never stopped in to Talbot's Toyland your missing out! I have shopped her since I was a boy and now my boy shops here. They have more toys than the BIG toy stores and I have found them to be less too. Toys, Dolls, Trains, RC cars and Bikes! Talbot's has it all!!!!!!

If you miss the experience going in to a toy store as a kid and think you only options are Walmart and Target..guess again! Talbots has a huge selection of toys, trains, baby stuff, bikes, models, planes, science and educational stuff, and lots of little goodies/knicknacks. I've been coming here since I was 10 years old an I'm 42 and can honestly say little has changed - so don't miss the experience!!!

Another throw back to a Golden age. The most wonderful toy store plus more with personalized service and friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you need information on trains, dolls accesories you name it you will get it here.
My little one loves to hang out in the store and try out the new toys! We have been known to hang out for 2 hours some days.
The only downside of Talbots is that I have to walk by with my son to get downtown from my house, so it's usually a challenge to go out without stopping by. These guys have a great selection of really interesting and fun toys - we've snagged some great wooden toys such as Brio as well as some stuff from Melissa & Doug, and the bike shop is the best for kids.
They are very competitive in pricing with the big box discounters but what sets them apart is their support of local groups with special nights for discount purchasing. I love that they giftwrap, too. They are friendly, knowledgeable and locally owned.
On the way to lunch today, I noticed Hello Kitty tchotchke's in the Talbot's window. I've been there a few times but have never noticed a Sanrio section. I'm impressed with their selection because it does differ slightly from the typical Sanrio store in a mall. It seems as if they handpick a couple unique items and put them there strategically. Love it.
