Isis, Egyptian Goddess from Whom all Beginnings Arose
Isis, the Egyptian High Priestess Moon Goddess, is one of the oldest deities. The Egyptian scriptures say of her, “In the beginning there was Isis, Oldest of the Old. She was the Goddess from whom all becoming arose.” She is said to be the creatrix who gave birth to the sun, and her title was “Giver of Life.” When Osiris, her god husband, was murdered, she brought him back to life and they conceived Horus, the falcon headed pharaoh. She is also known as the goddess of divine magic and alchemy. Isis was an important deity who was worshiped throughout the ancient Greco-Roman world.
